yesterday I took an overdose and an ambulance took me to hospital.  I couldn't take it anymore, I thought I was going mad.  My friend came and rang the ambulance and took me to Box Hill Hospital (which I hate) for all you americans I'm australian.  They stuck me in a cubicle and put an IV on me and told me to sleep.  Who the hell could sleep with all the noise going on.  So at 3 in the morning I discharged myself and went home.  I was abit croggy and went straight to bed.  This morning I got up and didnt cry for once and started tyding up the house.  Oh by the way my brother came to see me and said it was my fault I was destroying his marriage can u believe that, so I kicked him out.  Today I nearly lost control again but I stopped and pulled myself together.  I dont feel too bad now, my cousin is going to come and visit me later.

Hi Bella, im an Aussie too and i know how awful our emergency departments can be. I am so sorry you are feeling this way. Do you see a therapist/counsellor? Are you on prescription meds to help with your depression?

Im going to give you some numbers, and hope you stick with us here at HW as im sure you will recieve the support you need.

Beyond Blue Hotline: 1300 224 636

Lifeline: 13 11 14

Samaritans suicide careline: 9381 5555

Im sorry we had to meet like this but im glad you woke up feeling so much more positive. I think its wise to be careful who you let in on your life as people can hurt you, even if they dont mean it. Im not sure what the situation with your brother is but it didnt sound healthy for you.

Hang in there, dont give in and dont give up- you are not alone in this,

Maz XX

Bella,
I am so sorry you were so down yesterday. I am glad to see that Maz has posted some really great resources for you. I know from my own experience that sometimes family members just don't have anything helpful to say. At times when I am really, really depressed, I have found that I need to make a point to reach out to people outside my family as my family says really awful things.

Please do take some time to come up with a plan in case you reach the crisis stage again -- who can you talk to, what can you do, where can you go, etc. Please know that you are always welcome to post here. We have so many people from around that world that usually any time of the day there are members who are on-line (sometimes things get slow on the weekend, but weekdays usually are pretty busy). You can always ask others to join you in Chat as well by opening a new thread invite people. It takes a bit of time, sometimes, but usually people will come.

Please do take care of yourself. Know that you are a beautiful soul & your life will get better someday. In the meantime, we will be here to support you.

hugs & peace,
Frances

Hi Bella,

You have gotten some very good advice from the avove posts. We do have some wonderful people here that really care about you.

Please know that you couldn't possibly be the reason that your brother's relationship sunk. If it was going to happen it would have happened no matter what. Try not to let him get to you. It is your time to work on you and we are here to help you.

You sound like a very sweet person and I am so glad that you are posting here. As Frances said, sometimes it is slow on the weekends. But the week days really are pretty busy. And chat is always open. We try to have chat on Tuesdays. Usually there is an announcement to remind people on Mondays.

I hope that you continue to feel better.

Hugs, Karen
