Hi all,

I'm wondering if any of you could please suggest a really good mood diary that's suitable for depression and not bipolar? I've been looking for a good one for ages, and have found that most of them are more bipolar-focussed, whereas I want something that focusses more on motivation and fatigue (I have fibromyalgia and low mood) rather than manic symptoms.

Ideally, I'd also like to have a format that allows for more than one entry a day, and enables me to make a link between life events, my thoughts, my energy and my moods.

As I said, I've been looking for a good format for ages and haven't found one, and am starting to think I might need to create one myself rolleyes , but as I'm feeling lazy and would much rather just print something off the 'net, I'd really appreciate your input, as you're the experts!

Thanks heaps,

Ivy.

My earlier posts were lost while the forum was down, but I thought I'd post an update seeing as my mood diary is evolving anyway.

I have an A4 notebook and am writing a page a day.

Each day, I give myself a score out of ten for the following:
* overall feelings of depression
* grumpiness
* brooding, negative thoughts
* disturbed sleep
* difficulty concentrating
* anxiety
* lack of motivation
* fatigue
* pain (I write where the pain was, for future reference)

I then write a few general descriptions of how I've been feeling - e.g. "don't want to talk to anyone".

After that, I make a note of:
* anything that made my mood worse
* anything that made my mood better

I'm hoping to be able to detect some patterns after keeping the diary for a few more weeks, at which point I might be able to start doing specific things to cheer myself up... or at least start avoiding the things that make me feel sad.

Thanks for your advice and input... and please do keep the suggestions coming,

Ivy.
