Hi there, last year i was for a year on Celexa which helped me very well. i changed my life drastically and i thought i don't need any anti depressants anymore.... but they came back... my depressions are for no reason.... but they drag me totally down... i got celexa again... but didn't work at all... it weaned off after a few weeks... i know normally you go up with the dose but with a higher dose i couldn't concentrate at all so we started with pristiq ... what horrible weeks i had... my mood was drastically worse.. everything was bad... i got bitter and frustrated and at home we fight about everything every day. my husband wants to help me but he tells me every day how horrible i am to him and how aweful everything for him is. That makes me much more moody i know its me but i cant change it... today i changed to zooloft and i will go to acupuncture too, anybody any help or advise what to do how to react .... i am at the end of my health border... i get sick and sicker.... i feel totally lost and misunderstood ... even if my life is like a dream. Awesome husband, great house, love my job, love my pets, nice people around, good looking future... but my head is concentrating on that i am very sick and maybe die soon, i am worried that bad things happen, i am afraid to be alone some day... all things which i cant change now... i am exhausted.......

Please remember to give meds time to work.  I can sympathize with you, i was on several AD's and either they did not work or made me feel worse.  Finally, my Dr. put me on an anti-anxiety med called Buspar, we attacked the anxiety in hopes that the depression would resolve.  It worked, I have had very few side effects, we are still adjusting my dosage but this is the first med that actually made me feel quite a bit better.  I also understand the situation with your husband, because when we are feeling bad we get irritable and irrational sometimes.  I try very hard not to take things out on my husband and he therefore seems more understanding of my issues.  It sounds like you have alot to be thankful for, please try and focus on that when you are feeling bad.  If meds are not working, don't give up, keep trying, you will find something that works with your body chemistry.  Take care of yourself and I hope today is a good one for you.

Thank you soo much for your replies,

yesterday i had a mental breakdown and everything didnt make sense anymore i cried for hours. Later i went to Acupuncture and i got some herb medicine and my doctor put me on only 25 mg Zooloft... my dumbness in my head got already much better i think more rational and i feel like i get back to live again... lots to work on and my doctor told me to read the book from Dr. Burns which helps me understand myself and my surroundings better.

We as a couple will look now for a hobbie here together (Alberta = cold soon) so we want to go together in the gym and spending some qualtiy time together doing something for our health. I am looking forward to it and keep you all posted!! Thanks for your input!

Hi there,

I am so happy for you. I took zoloft years ago and it helped. I am glad that it is working for you. I ended up getting too skinny and had diarhea from it. But that probably happen to you. I am glad that you are feeling better too.

I am glad things in general are working well for you. You sound so happy right now. I love it.

take care, keep us posted.

Hugs, Karen

Zoloft worked good for me as well Jamie, i just couldn't sleep so i went off of it,i'm pretty sure it will get you back on track. I've been were you are before,i'm sort of there now.Where nothing makes sense and you are afraid of yourself and how you feel and others around you are afraid for you and they don't understand what to make of you. My husband gets a little impatient with me too sometimes,he's been dealing with my panic attacks and depression and mood swings for years but we do have some better times and they usually out wiegh the bad times. Hang in there, the zoloft will get you on track sounds like you are already getting there.

Hello there, my husband and me are reading the book every evening together, i will work with the book i heard soo much good things about it and now my husband understands my sickness much better... even after 3 - 4 days reading in it... i think its awesome... Every couple should try to work it out together... well today was a really good day for me... Zooloft and my chinese herbal pills are working wonder... i feel like in a great spring day... (i know that tomorrow everything could be different and i am aware of it) but i try to enjoy every minute i feel better... i am also looking very much forward going to the gym and spa with my husband together....

oh i wouldnt mind loosing weight a bit with Zooloft... the other reports on that shock me more... the most of the people i read about gained about 20 lbs in 6 months... i try to keep my weight always in an BMI about 23... which isnt terrific but absolutely ok... well a few years ago i weight about 60 lbs more then now.. so i am kind of always scared to take weight on.... anybody some tips or advise with my tablets or so?

pawfect, good on you both. some excellent self-actualising by you both. the combination of herbal treatments is a wise move, do check to see that the interactions are ok. the gym wil keep your weight stable, and walk for your mind as well. snack on good stuff, some meds do give people the munchies. i think you have an excellent system going, keep moving forward, proud of ya, jamie. smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin
