So I got out of the hospital to go to a family thanksgiving meal.  Big mistake.  Huge family arguement.  I am having severe flare of my CD so I could not eat much anyway.  I have to admit I have been dwelling on this.  You see my Mother died earlier this year, and come to find out that there was some money that she had coming her way from her family farm.  We (my brothers and I) wanted to follow the exact terms of the family farm trust.  But by doing that my mothers siblings took that as we were thinking they were trying to cheat us.  It was more that the lawyer my Uncle employed for the trust could not even spell his clients name correctly.  So I did take longer then I probably should have to turn it around, because I wanted to cover my own legal six.

I have to admit to find out this was money that my Mom could have spent on her care is something that just drives me nuts.  But she was the kind of person who would put the family farm, before her health and wellbeing.

I just needed to vent.  Thanks.

Thank you jamie! What I did not put in there and I am sure you could read into it, was the level of violence that was attained. Thank you for your kind and compassionate thoughts.

Things can get SO ugly when it involves inheritances...I've seen it when grandparents from both sides of the family passed away. I have 1 sister, and I just can't imagine fighting over money. I would be so upset about losing my parents that money would probably be the last thing on my mind. Of course, my dad has split some things up (bonds mainly) already so it will never be an issue.

I'm sorry this all happened on Thanksgiving. I know you haven't been feeling well, and you deserved a relaxing day with family.

I hope you're feeling ok, let us know how you're physically doing.

(((Navy)))

Jaimee's right; estates and wills are horrendous, especially when there are multiple (and usually competing) family members to bicker over them. I'm really sorry you had to cope with such a violent argument - and at Thanksgiving - while grieving and missing your mother, and while so very ill.

What exactly does a farm trust entail? I didn't quite understand that part.

*hug*

I can relate to inheritance issues, I deal with them alot in my work, and it really is sad to see how some families get when there is money concerned. When my Mom passed I was so glad that she took care of giving her house to my brother legally, so that my sisters couldn't come and try to take it from him. Because my mom took care of things ahead of time, all the fight was taking out of the situation. Sorry you are having to deal with this on top of being so ill.

Hugs
