hi guys,

finnaly for any of you that have been following my story, since i joined site in 2005, I have finally found my soultion today, well I was talking to my doctor and he finnally put me off prozac, and said I do not have any more depression left inside of me, this happened by cowincedance, just before holidays I ran out, and I was always thinking of stoping, and made an apooitment with my doctor but had to cancel it for persoanl reasons, tried to call him durring holidays but he was away, so I left messages on the answering machine, but I decided to continue without prozac, and I saw him just a few hours ago, and after he reviewed my status for the last month, he said I should stop prozac without even me making a suggestion about it!

well, last month was very odd for me, on oct 28 I did some blood tests, and found that my TSH is above 15! and my T3 and T4 are suffering very badly, so I saw a specialist, and she asked me to start taking thyroskene ( maybe spelling is wrong ) and after 1 month and 1 week now I do not have any deppresion any more, and do not need any depression medicine, I am so happy guys right now! and I have been freelancing succesffully ( pay is bad thought ) for a year now and very active, last month I do not sleep more than 7 hours anymore, and I do not feel like I want to waste anytime.

what I may say next, may come as a shock to some and I hope you do not moderate this, I am not extremist trust me , but I think nobody was on my side but GOD, he is the only one who showed me the way, when everone else failed me. I know all my relatives and familly mean well, even the 10 or so docotors I saw, but none had the solution, the solution came from GOD to tell me what to do. I have gone back to praying and this is what really helped me, everything else was just revealed itself.

if you decide to moderate the above, it is your choice, but It will upset me very much. HW was always good to me, and kind people, but you have to give us freedom of expression, because it may help someone some day.

good luck to everyone!

So glad to hear Akram! I was reading and I have a lot of thyroid symptoms also, but I think I'm going to need to go to a specialist because my levels have been on the very low end of normal and dr's have been unwilling to try treatment if you're still in the normal range. How long after starting thyroid meds did you start feeling better?

I'm glad praying is helping you also. I hope things continue to go well for you!

bar77, I think the first 2 weeks I started to see signs, but I was on very high dosage (150mg thyroxine). and after that, every week was better than the one before, untill I became so active and outspoken that my doctor deciced to put me off depresion medicine a week ago, and put me on serquel to add some control, and let me sleep deeper.

sadly, the first night I slept like a baby, with the 300gm dosage at 10PM, and even slept too much, I woke up at 8:30 AM missing the dawn prayers. then talked to my doctor he said the first few days are like this.

strangley enough, the next 2 night I could not sleep more than 2 hours!!
tonight, I slept from 11:30PM to 1:30AM... duno why, just 2 hour of sleep and I do not feel sleepy at all, but my eyes are hurting a lot.

I guess maybe this serquel is not good for me.

but the good news, I did my second interview today for a nice internet company, AND IT SEEMS I GOT THE JOB! lol, well there are some stuff that need to be sorted like agreeing on salary and signing contract, but it seems my job hunt is over now :)

I have appointment on tuesday to see if we can lower the serquel, because it makes me dizzy , and also some hulusinations. but the doctor was forced to try it because I keep thinking too much all the time and very outspoken which is not normally me, maybe it has to do with the thyroid now being over-active lol.

anyway bar77, these are the values that are important for thyroid function:

T3, T4 : some sort of anzimes release and will affect many functions in the body, they are important.
THS: when this is released, it triggers release of T3,T4
Immune system: if it's tooo high it will burn T3 and T4 thinking they are a virus

when the T3 and T4 start going down, the body triggers more releases of THS to try and compensate, but if your emmune system is high enough, it will not be able to do much. the only solution in this case is to take thyrozine which will in turn boost T3 and T4

hope this helps :)

thanks jamie,

for some reason, last 2 nights I could only sleep 2-3 hours.. so my doctor increased the sequel from 300gm to 450gm :( he said I must be able to sleep. and I was getting some hulisinations that I am not able to breath right.

after taking the 450mg serquel last night I slept like a baby lol, and no more side effects from serquel on the 4th day now, I am so happy. no more headakcs or other stuff. I just hope the doctor will decrease the dosage very soon...
