Hi everyone~
I am still without a computer so I am trying to stay in touch with people that understand.  I have been extremely concerned about things that are going on with my memory and ability to concentrate.  I know everyone is saying that everyone forgets things, the things that are troubling  me actually are so severe that my day to day functioning has been affected.  I am so scared for once in my life and cannot lean on anyone.

I know that you guys are there for me and that means the world to me.

Hey Teresa,

Glad that you posted but sorry that you are without a computer still.

I am sorry that you are feeling the way that you are.  I hope that things get better.  Maybe you need to work on your cognative skills.  And stimulate the mind.  I know that when I started working again, I could think better.  It was because I had to and it seemed to follow me home.  I wonder if something like that would help you.  Have you talked to your doctor about this?  I use to take ginko biloba for my mind function.  It is an herb.  One of the oldest on the planet.  Maybe it would help you some.  It takes a while to start working.  Another thing that might help is welbutrin.  When I took that I was as sharp as a tack.  I would talk to the doc and see what might help you.

I hope that you feel better soon.  Thanks for posting, we love to hear from you.

Hugs, Karen

Hi Theresa,

You don't say what meds you're on. Depression can definitely impair our thinking and memory. I know when I'm depressed I have a terrible time with my memory -- miss appointments, forget what I'm doing, so on. Also, some of the meds can cloud you're thinking. Topomax, for example, is nicknamed Stupamax. Can make you dopey. Talk to your doc, there may be some other reasons for feeling cloudy.

Thanks everyone for your replies. You have given many great suggestions but I am afraid that meds, therapy or anything else "pysch" is going on. I have been depressed for over 20 years and as many of you know, have tried everything for ECT to VNS and I still fight everyday. I plan on calling my medical doctor whom I havent seen for a couple of years. I hope that he finds out what may be going on with me.

I am having alot of thoughts about life and how much I could have done in order to be happy and I hate the behaviors and actions that led me here.

I guess it is safe to say that I am destined to be living with my mistakes forever.

Hi Teresa,

The path to wellness isn't always easy, but it is smart.  It often seems like you are stuck in the mud, but you will be moving forward as time goes on.  So please try.  You deserve to feel better.  You have been struggling for a long time.

I hope that you start feeling better soon.

Best wishes to you.  Keep us posted.

Hugs, Karen

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to check in and tell what has been happening. My baby sister visited this week and brought boxes from my sister Gina's belongings. I have sorted through some of it but the sadness is overwhelming. I just wish I had someone close to sit with me while I go through the rest. There were a couple items that I received that mean the world to me. One is the first wedding band my sister had when she was married. She and my brother-in-law had been married 16 years and every so often they would "update" their ever-growing love with new bands, OK YES MY SISTER INSISTED ON THIS, LOL) but seriously the band I have is the one she received on their wedding day. It is a plain band of gold and I will wear it on my hand for the rest of my life to be close to her. I have a ring that means the world to me given to me on Valentine's Day 6 years ago by the one true love of my life. Now I have another that is special to me and I will cherish always.

If you read this, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MY DARLING, ALWAYS IN MY MIND AND HEART!
