hi invisible. depression is an insideous beast, it can get you when you are at your best, worst, etc. what is happening to you are key symptoms of it. you are not alone. i am glad that you have seen your doc, also it usually takes around 6 weeks for the full theraputic element of the anti-depression medication to kick in, some people notice changes around 4 weeks in. some counselling i feel will help you-is your BF supportive? if not then he made need to be educated about your condition, and depression is a medical condition. in terms of your employer, are they supportive? can you get some medical/compassionate leave? hoping you feel much better soon, we are here for you. you have been brave in posting, so keep being brave. with compassion. jamie, male, 37.

Hi Invisible,

Welcome to the depression forum.  I am sorry that you are feeling so down.

Give the wellbutrin a chance to work.  Normally it is like a stimulant.  It gives you energy.  Like Jamie says it takes a good six weeks to reach it's full effect.  I hope that it works for you.  You may find relief sooner even.

Best wishes for a wonderful day.

Hugs, Karen

I too faced the same problem because of depression because of work pressure. I felt so depressed later my friend advised me to try hypnosis and suggest ... They provided such a good solution to relief from depression and improved my self confidence and self control.

hi sophie_james, jamie here.

good for you. hypnosis has it's critics, alike ECT, of which i have had, i was going to try it-although ,my shrink, who was the best in this country (forensic) advised me against it until i had some intense therapy first. this was because of some serious past post traumatic abuse, as i say a sequale, which means all encompassing, however i may look at in the future for some problematic stuff. hoping you feel better soon, welcome to the forum. with compassion, jamie.

Hello,
I'm on wellbutrin XL to be helpful but it is in combination with other medications at this time. Before I started taking it I wasn't geting out of the house or talking to people so my therapist had me do some exposure therapy. Going out a little each day to be around people wether that was at the store or what ever. Just to be around people. I'm still working on it. I'm still on the wellbutrin at this time. I hope that you have much success with this medication, and I wish you all the best. Linx......
