I have been taking Zoloft for about 8-10 months...and I have experienced more frequent cravings to certain foods....I have also had more impulse buying...a slight loss of focus and about 25 lbs of weight gain. I can not be certain that the weight gain is primarily because of the Zoloft, because I did have a knee surgery in 2007 and my gallbladder removed in 2008, however that was all before the zoloft and the weight just gets coming,  no matter what I eat or what I do....A friend suggested I ask to be switched from Zoloft to Wellbutrin...I would love to have some feedback on this....Anything would be helpful. Thanks

HI Pammy,

I didn't gain weight on zoloft, but there are others who have. I suggest that you talk to your doc about the welbutrin and see what he/she says. It is known to not gain weight.

Best wishes to you. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks so much Karen. I will talk to her today....the Zoloft also doesn't seem to helping (in my opinion) quite enough. I was on Effexor before and that was really not working. Just sucks all the changing around....shakehead

I know how it goes, it took me a long time before I found what would work for me. I took effexor too. 375mg a day. That is the highest dose that you can take. I am now taking pristiq. 100mg a day. I like it. I also take abilify too and xanax.

I hope that you find what works for you.

Hugs, Karen

it is a bit trial and error. well a lot for me!! seeking an increase in the cymbalta myself. have tried effexor, 4 yrs, pristiq, lexapro, mirtazapine, zoloft, luvox and the list goes on. each person reacts differently to different meds, and sometimes they just poop. my depression is very reactive, thus it is something i manage strongly. agree that it is important to keep discussing your situation with your doc, thus you can receive the best treatments available. hey, you have had a bit of medical going on too. don't be to hard on yourself. cravings, i did on effexor. keep well and know that we care, with compassion, jamie
