Hi,

I mostly post/lurk on the Crohn's board but am looking for input from you guys. I was prescribed Celexa today and am looking for positive stories since horror stories are what I'm mostly finding. The dose is 10 mg & we hope to only have me on it 3-6 months. I did Effexor about 5 years ago & didn't like it at all, mostly due to the "shocks" & withdrawal symptoms.

I did a search but most all of the posts were old.

I also put this on the Anxiety board.

Thanks!

That is my favorite verse in the Bible. It has got me through many hardships. Anyhow, in answer to your question, I'm still alive and kicking and I'm on 40mg of Celexa. No trouble with it what so ever.

Hi sugarfoot,

I just wanted to welcome you. I haven't used Celexa myself, but I did have the brain zaps on Effexor. Good times. :-) Not.

I hope people give you some more helpful feedback. It's hard not to be scared off of meds when you research them -- all meds have trails of horror stories miles long behind them. Just give it a try, give it some time to work, and call your doc if it doesn't.

jamie saying hi,

have not been on celexa, however did effexor xr for 4 and a half years, went on it and off it a few times. it eventually pooped. 375mg, did pristiq for a couple of months and now on cymbalta. around 4 months now, just increased 3 days a go to 120mg. is still knocking me a bit, alike me, hang in there. with compassion,
-jamie

I was using celexa (generic). Not a bad choice, though getting the right dosage seemed to be tricky
