I have been depressed for years, my main goal is to look athletic in life for self esteem. Lately Ive lost the motivation to work out, eat, and even live. I smoke cigarettes alot, and sometimes when i dont eat i have terrible  where i feel like i cant breathe, cant think, or cant see. Im just worried that my poor self maintenance is actually killing me and im just always to  to notice it or do anything about it. I also have lost the ability to eat normal amounts of food, i usually try to but end up feeling sick to my stomach any advice or input i can have?

hi jamie here, male 37.
i think having a chat with your dr. would be a good start. from what i have read it seems like that you have some aviodance coping measures that are inhibiting your health. there are plenty of things that you can do, and or focus on that can be helpful; ie
meditation, walking, painting, writing is extremely cathartic, getting stuff out of your head and onto paper is very healing also. because you have a mixture of things happening i feel that getting the appropriate specialist help will be extremely helpful to your mental and physical health. i know depression sucks, we all live with it, i hope to that you can alike all of us manage it better. tis hard work, albeit when you can pls seek some assistance. maybe your mental health team can provide some assistance and referal for you. in the meantime know that we care, and know that we are here for you. you have been brave in posting, keep being brave. with healing compassion, jamie

I am sorry that I had to edit your post, but we are not suppose to talk about recreational drugs on the forum. I would advise you to go over the rules before posting anymore. But the one thing that I can say, is if they are a problem with you, just stop. Easy as that. It is hard to tell what is going on with our mental health when we are under the influence.

Take life one day at a time. Get with your doc or a counselor and start therapy. They can help you quit your habits too. If you want a good bod, you have to work at it every day. It takes strong will and dicipline. I wish you the best with this.
