My husband has had a relapse. Tomorrow he starts the day program at the local mental health hospital. It was suggested inpatient but he would not agree. I promised to watch over him and get him there tomorrow. Frankly I dont know if I will be able to get him there, but thought if I made him stay then if this happens again I will never get him to the hospital. I am tired. My stomach cant handle it--I am vomitting and having diarrhea on a daily basis. While intellectually I knew there was a 50% chance of this happening I did not think it would happen again. Now the odds are 80% for a third relapse. I dont want to know the odds of a 4th.
He stopped taking his meds three weeks ago. He has been depressed for months. It has been worse the last few weeks-now I know why. This is not how I want to spend my life.

Hi Lynne,

I too am sorry that this has happened. I wonder why he stopped taking his meds. Maybe he thought that he was cured because he was feeling better. I did that once. Big mistake, it was the meds that were makeing me feel better and I went for bumpy ride afterwards until I got back on.

I really am sorry that you are going through all of this right now. This isn't waht you needed. Remember to take care of you as Jamie said. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs, Karen
