Hi everyone,
Well, I have begun the journey to find out what is wrong with my health.  I have so many tests scheduled and already done that it seems as if I see a doctor almost everyday.
Yesterday I went to see the hematology/oncology doctor that I was referred to by my primary doctor.  He went over my paperwork and examined me.  In a nutshell, he is interested in my WBC and a surgery I had in 1998 in which I had a "benign" mass removed.  He us concerned that maybe I have dormant "non-malignant" cells that are causing my white count to flucuate.  His comment was "I am hoping that this is not the tip of the iceberg" of the cells that were "ignored" after that surgery.  Seeing that I am scheduled for a vascular CT scan next week, he has decided to watch the WBC every week for 6 weeks.  Every Thursday I have to drive to the hospital/office to have my blood taken.  We talked about all the bruising I have and He is more concerned right now with the WBC and vasculature problems.
I do have faith in these new doctors and hope that I can finally have answers to my serious issues that I have been concerned with all along.  Noone in my family knows about what is going on, so it is kinda hard doing it alone. Although Iknow I will be fine, I have done this by myself for awhile.

Hi Teresa,

I hope that this isn't anything serious. But know that I will be praying for you. Keep your spirits up if you can. I know that this is hard. I am glad that you got your computer issues fixed so that you can come on the forum more.

Take care, keep us posted.

Hugs, Karen

I hope that you find the answers you are seeking... I can relate to-- knowing that something is wrong and having to wait for answers.. Sounds like your doctor has your back, and that, in itself, is a goldmine...Keep in touch, and take care...

Thanks everyone, I go in for my CT tomorrow.  So much has happened since my last post as far as memory and brain function go.  They are so bad that I would find it hard to believe there is nothing wrong in my brain.  However, I am not afraid.

Hi everyone~
I have received some of my test results back and my ct scan was normal.  However, the doctor is thinking about ordering a more invasive test which checks for specific regions of the brain that may show hemorrage due to my high blood pressure.  I still have to have my blood drawn every week but my WBC's are getting lower and the oncologist wants to see me earlier than planned.
I am still bruising and have no energy and I still have so many tests to take.

I am staying strong though

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.  My blood counts did not drop but did not increase.  I asked the nurse if that is good and she shrugged and said, "You are still very low and the bruising hasn't got any better."  I have to see the physician assistant this week because the doctor said that he needed to see me earlier than 6 weeks.  So after my blood draw Thursday, I guess we will see what fun stuff there is in store for my body.  They still have not really come right out and said that a blood type disease such as Hodgskin's or neoplastic anemia but I do feel so tired and wore out.  Everyone that sees me comments on how tired I look.  Plus I have gained several pounds of weight and they believe that it may be water and that my kidneys could be a problem.  I always thought that my kidneys would be a problem because of the "gross" symptoms that I have always had like the "gut-wrenching" smell that I have been told smells like "buck-Lure" :( right, W?

My son and I did go and feed ducks this weekend and discovered a couple nests with eggs and actual hatchlings in them.  It was pretty exciting for us both as I have never seen new baby birds that are just newly hatched.  It was really amazing.
Anyway, it is raining today and I have pretty much stayed inside after I took my son to school.  I will probably research a little more about birds and nests, it was kinda cool!

Wow Teresa,

I sure hope things turn out good for you. Do you drink much water? I know that is good for the kidneys. I sure do hope that everything is going to be okay for you. Please do keep us posted.

The ducks sound cool. And I am glad that you are getting into the birds. They are so interesting to watch and study.

Keep us up to date on how things are going for you. I am getting kind of worried. But they say why worry when you can pray so that is what I am doing for you.

Take care,

Hugs, Karen
