Hi,

so I am a third year college student, or I was until i withdrew. I actually just withdrew from school due to my depression/anxiety and i dont know what to do. My school health insurance only lasts until aug. 14th and then I have no way of paying for anything. I am working but that's not even enough to cover for my rent and i am currently 300+ miles away from home. I have some money saved up but that's only enough for my june's rent. after that I am screwed. do ya'll have any resources that would help me. I dont want to end up homeless and I would really like to continue with my counseling sessions.

thanks!

Hi there,

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum. The only thing that I can think of is checking with the Department of Human Services and see if you qualify for any help there. There are disability programs I think within your college. Plus The Department of Mental Health might have some help for you. I would try all of them. You might be able for some type of disability that could help you with school. You really need to get some medication or counseling to help you get through this. I hate to see you drop out of school due to your illness. There should be some help for that. But get ahold of human services and talk to a social worker there and see what you are eligible for. They might even help you pay your rent.

Best wishes to you.

Hugs, Karen

also you can defer on medical grounds. talk with your uni liaison officer or counsellor. your dr. can advize your Dean of your situation. you can be given extra time on papers and can receive compassionate time for exams. wishing you all the best. sending healig thoughts your way. jamie.
