Question for you, I was struggling with some postpartum depression after my first little girl- was put on Paroxetine and started to feel some better- enough that I was able to make some changes in the way that I was living and improve my happiness. Then just a few months later, we found we were expecting again, so I quit taking the medication. I have been off for about 6 months now, but I'm really starting to feel super crummy again... what do you do when you are pregnant and depressed? Are there medications out there that are safe for pregnancy? I'm just struggling to be a mom right now, getting out of bed, and taking care of myself. I am really pushing myself to do the things I know helped the last time- getting out with other people, taking walks outside, etc.... but lately I can't seem to talk myself into even doing that. No energy, and I just don't want anyone to see me like this, so down and out. Anyway, I'm calling my doctor tomorrow to see what he recommends... but just wondering if anyone out there has any experience in this area... cause I can't pretend this isn't becoming a problem again.

I had some information for you and I really messed up trying to copy and paste it. I am going to try again.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/antidepressants/DN00007

It didn't come up blue, but I believe it is an article from mayo clinic. I really hope that it helps some.

I know that you must be going through so much right now. Try to take it slow, one day at a time until you talk to your doctor and figure out what to do.

I just typed in 'antidepressants and pregnancy' there was more information that what I found.

Best wishes to you.

Keep posting and know that we are all here for you.

Hugs, Karen

Thanks for getting back so quickly. just really hoping we can find something that works... without risk to baby. but maybe like it says in the article it will end up being healthier for her if I am able to take better care of myself while she is growing.
