Hi,   It is great to see a forum with a great group of members and posts.   I suffer from depression, but also have been taking meds (Wellbutrin) for 8 years.   I had a major low 8 years ago and felt like I wanted to end things then, but my family intervened (I have a wonderful wife and great children) and  I started therapy and snapped out of it.  Recently, based on increasing pressures at work and with elder care, I find myself slipping down and focusing on the negative issues in my life which seem insurrmoutable.   I want to avoid hitting that low point again and find that belonging to forums like this really helps as sometimes I need someone to communicate with who understands what it means to be down and how it clouds your thinking.

Hi Helpered51,

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression Forum!!! I am so glad that you have joined us. And I hope that this forum helps you. We have a lot of members in the same state as you and we all try to support eachother. So you should fit in wonderfully.

I would like to ask if you are going to any therapy? Therapy really helps a lot. I have been going for years and am so happy that I started. It was so good to have somebody listen and really show me the objective side of things. Sometimes we lose that and everything seems so bleak. And we do look at things negatively.

I hope that you keep posting.

Let us know how things are going.

Hugs, Karen

Hi Helpered 51

I would also like to say welcome, although I have only been on here for a couple of weeks myself I received tremendous support and you immediately feel like you are among friends.

It's great that you have a great wife and family as they are what keeps you going there is no doubt. My husband is my rock and although he doesn't understand depression or why I have it, I think he realises that things affect me different to how they do him. I also feel really blue some days, I get bored with myself, I get bored with my garden which I absolutely love, I just get bored with life but then when I feel like that, sometimes I get on this site and it always lifts my spirits. You're right depression definitely clouds your thinking.

Please keep posting as we are all interested and like to help if we can.
