14 and depressed need help!!!!

ok so im really depressed... i constantly sleep... i feel like i dont know how to have fun anymore.... and like i havent smiled in forever... im loosing friends because i am always sad... i try to inflect pain on myself... and my parents dont approve.... i cry at the snap of a finger... and i am gaining weight fast.... some one i seriously need help...

I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time right now. Please do talk to your parents and ask them to take you to the doctor (either your pediatrician or, if you've had your first period, to your gynecologist). Either of those doctors can run tests to see if there is a physical cause for your feelings (sometimes hormones at 14 can cause feelings of tiredness & depression & can be treated with medicine). If there isn't a physical cause, they can help you find help. Usually the first step after ruling out physical causes is to talk to a counselor. Almost always they are very nice people, but if you don't like one, try another. Someone should be able to really help you start feeling better.

PS -- Weekends can sometimes be slow (it depends) but I imagine some of our teen members will be along to welcome you shortly & to share their experiences.

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum. I am so glad that you have joined us. We do have a lot of teens on here atm. I think you will fit right in. I have a lot of teen sites that I can direct you to also.

I hope that the counseling works for you. I have been going for years and it si a lifesaver.
