I have been seeing a psychologist for about 2 months, along with my psychiatrist. My psychiatrist is now going to be working for the prison system, so I won't be seeing him anymore. He was willing to speak with my attorney concerning my disability claim. (I have both depression/OCD/anxiety and fibromyalgia) But now that he left the office, he won't be doing that for me.

My psychologist is very willing to work with me on getting my disability. We filled out even more paperwork today, and he is really going to try and get things moving. Who knows when I will get my hearing though.

I balked at getting disability all these years that I've suffered with depression. I worked several jobs, ended up in the hospital, and then got other jobs, and ended up in the hospital. I did this for 22yrs. Then I got fibromyalgia, and had to quit working 3yrs ago, altogether. Between the pain, fatigue and depression, I just couldn't pull it off anymore.

Trying to get disability has been horrible. I tried on my own and was denied. That was 1 1/2 years ago. I'm still waiting for that 1st hearing with the judge.

Are there any good stories from folks who have gotten disability? Today I got a glimmer of hope from my psychologist....but I'm afraid to get my hopes up. He said I need this sooner than later, and he will work hard for me.

Guess I just need some support. Any knowledge would be appreciated.

Hi Myjoy,

I really hope that you get your disability this time.  I tried for it.  But the pain management doctor wasn't a doctor at all.  She was a physicans assistant.  So all of my records were worthless.  But I did work last summer and maybe I can work.   But I was planning to take the winter off.  We have hard winters here.

I am happy to hear that you have an attorney.   That really helps.  I had a free attorney and he wasn't much help.  He didn't say much of anything.  What really ticked me off is that they wanted my records from my social worker that I had and their records don't count either.  She wouldn't give  any of my records because they are confidential.  But She did let them know I was clinically depressed.  They said that my psychiatrist and myself were uncredible.  So that didn't feel too good.  But since you have an attorney, I think things will go well.  Mine didn't really count as far as I am concerned.

I think things are going to go well for you.  I hope that they do.  Keep posting and let us know what is happening with it.

Hugs, Karen
