I got a puppy in March.  My husband said I treated her like a baby too.  She has developed some bad habits because I didn't treat her like a dog.  I carried her around so much he didn't think she would be able to walk on her own.  lol...  But I just couldn't help it.  But that has spoiled her.  So beware of that.  I don't know if cats are like dogs, but you do have to let them be animals that they are.   When we cuddle them and stuff we are actually doing this for us, not the animal.  But in my opinion, we need affection for ourselves and as long as we don't go overboard, what is the matter?

I am glad that you have a kitty to love.

I am sorry that your husband is trying to cut you off from your parents.  That is not right.  Especially if you are close to them.  Don't let him run your life.  It sounds like this relationship is one sided.  Maybe you could go by yourself and see them.  I don't like the sound of this.  He is being too posessive.

Keep posting and let us know what is going on.  I think you have a right to see your parents.

Well, the trip was amazing.

The only thing my husband complained about it the 9 hour drive. He wants to be able to visit, but he hates driving these hours. I am trying to think if me driving would be easier on him?

So glad you had a great time this weekend. You husband sounds SO much like my father in law. It took me at least 12 years to get her to believe she could just go do things without and explanation of why. Also if things weren't just perfect she would cry. I never understood until she finally told me her father expected EVERYTHING to be perfect. My family does the best we can and that's how it is. But her's growing up was like boot camp or something.
about the cat. All my cats are or have been members of the family. Somewhat spoiled, yet well behaved. Each and every one of them are like our children. So are the dogs though. The dogs did crate trained early on for their own safety mostly and to keep the carpets safe. LOL!

Take care,
Bill

It is very nice to read this entire thread from the beginning and see such a great outcome! I was originally going to reply to the first post, but my reply would have been the same as most of the others that posted their opinions. I just want you to know that I am so very happy for you and hope things continue to go in that direction!!
