OFF TOPIC:

This has been pissing me off lately and has been bringing me street, anxiety, and depression.

What happened to entry level jobs?

Seriously, I have been trying to find a simple decent paying entry level job to replace the one that I have now.

Please I understand that I should be thankful for having a job in today's economy, and I am. However I hate it. I feel worthless, useless, and my Boss ensures to make me feel those emotions tenfold.

So with that being said, seeing as this is a National Forum I wanted to ask if this is happening everywhere as well as here in Reno NV.

Seeing that the position pays low, and the position is also the lowest on the totem pole at the place of business. Would this be considered an Entry Level Job?

Wrong, employers want someone with at least 2 years of experience for the job.

Something as simple as a Grocery bagger these days requires experience in the Supermarket field before being considered. Want to work at McDonalds, have no restaurant experience, sorry we are looking towards a candidate with more experience.

Minimum wage in reno is almost 9 dollars now. So a position that is offering 10 would be considered entry level wright? Wrong.

Thats a high end position these days in Reno. If you make more than 30k a year your a high roller.

I think it is time to move.

How are the other cities holding up in this country?

I can't find a stinking job. I've been applying like there's no tomorrow. What's worse, I have a disability and NO one is willing to accommodate me.

I'm north of Rochester, NY.

Employers these days are ruthless.

They know they can pay you less, they know they can treat you poorly, they know you won't do anything because you need the money.

Shame on them.

Unfortunately we have to put through it because there really isn't anything else we can do.

Smoonikins, you could perform a lawsuit for being treated poorly since your are disabled. Unfortunately you can not waste the money nor time to attempt such a thing. Horrible. If you are qualified and have good ethics and fit the description, your disability should not even come up in the conversation.

However today, no one cares, see our injured vets returning from Iraq, or where ever the War on Terror is these days, see them getting jobs. Nope, the getting treated as if they never lost their limbs fighting over seas.

Shame on employers.

For those employers out there that are kind, and have the same moto they have had since before this all started. God bless you!
