Hi, new to forum just want to say this forum is great I decided to use it everybody seems very nice and supportive. I really like that.

I just started wellbutrin xl 150mg and wanted to know if anybody has seen weightloss with this drug be honest please and if you have was it immediate or after a few weeks. I am on zolft for a long time 200.mg I really have bad deppesion I have had lyme and co-infections for 14 yrs.
and have been very depressed over the yrs also it runs in the family. so My question is do you lose weight on this and how much. not looking to lose weight my weight is very low so I want to beaware if this starts to happen.

I have been on it for almost aweek and no side effects. The Dr did tell me to take it in the morning because it could make you alert. so as far as that goes it's working great. But have heard it does cause weightloss and I want to be on top of that cause my Dr will take it away if he sees me losing weight .

Thanks and I'm happy to be here. Marlene rolleyes shakehead

Hi Marlene,

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum.  If you see weightloss, try upping your calories.  I use to be very thin, well, skinny.  And lost weight on meds.  But you can drink those shakes and stuff that have a lot of calories.

I hope that this works out for you.  It seems the Welbutrin is working well for you.  So don't worry.  The more that you worry, the more chance of losing weight due to stress.  Take care my friend.  Keep posting.

Yes Marlene,

Depression is a very lonely disease.  But you have us now, so that will help.  On the weekends, the forum is usually slow, so don't get disappointed if you don't get a lot of responses, but during the week, most everybody is here.  For me, I am usually always not far from the site.  I check it often.  MOst of the time anyway.  I have my days too.  You know how that goes.

Take care, glad you posted back.
