I've just joined. And I thought I was having postpartum depression kicking in. But I believe it's too late for that, must just be regular old depression. I am a stay at home Mom with two kids, all the bills and stress is put on me. They're both under two years old. I've been fighting with my best friends, fighting with my Mom who I am closest with. The kids' dad works away and is only home once a week. My Dad is in trouble with law and has brought me into it. I am close with my brother but he has recently joined Air Force and is in the south now. I am feeling so alone and so stressed. Really just need someone to talk to. I am beginning to be angry towards my precious babies and I know it's not their fault at all. :(

Oh also forgot to add that I have major relationship problems with the kid's father and have recently re-enrolled into online college so I can finish my degree.

Hi Over$tressedmom,

Can you look at it this way?  You are raising two beautiful children.  You take care of all the finacial issues, you do have friends and a mother who loves you.  In which you are very close.  You are finishing up your college degree.  Try to look at things more positive.  I know it is hard when you are depressed, but you have to do the best that you can to turn things around to a positive aspect.

Are you going to any counceling?  It is really hard to raise a family when your SO is working away.  Do you have a relationship with him anymore?  Is he supportive of you?  You need to be around supportive people when you are feeling like this.  I think counseling would give you a lot of support.  And you can learn ways to cope with your situation.

There will be others on with suggestions.  The main thing I want to express is to keep your children's best welfare at heart and that will guide you.  You are trying really hard and that pays off too.  Keep posting and keep your chin up.  Keep trying!

Hugs, Karen

Thank you! I had just acutally posted a sticky note to call the local office for counseling tomorrow. and had simultaneously text an old friend who gave me same advice "think of those beautiful babies" and " you need to look @ the good in your life" ... I guess there's a message here. I am just terrified of medicine, I am terrified I will go to a psychiatrist and they will tell me I'm insane and need on medicine. ( not that there's anything wrong with that) just personally my mother hasn't been much of a mother, just a friend growing up, and she's been depressed and i've seen her personality do the strangest things from her depression meds.
