Hello
I am new to this site but not to depression. This is my 4rth wretched round.
Am on Paxil -40-60 mg and have started Wellbutrin 150 LX
Any help for constipation and has anybody else found help with this combination
of meds?

Hi Pcr7,

I have taken both of these medications, but not at the same time. I hope that you find some answers. I stopped paxil because of sexual side effects, and the wellbutrin made me too nervous at a higher dose. I hope that you find what is right for you.

Hugs, Karen

Thanks for responding. Depression is bad enough without trying to figure out
what med or combo is going to be effective. Doc says these two can be taken
together. I am hoping for some releif soon.

hi jamie here.

been on over 60 different a/ds and mood stabilisers. it may need some more time, conversly it may not be an effective combo. keep talkin' with ya doc, i would also recommend your pharmacist as these guys are med specialists. keep well, and know that we care. with compassion, jamie.

Thanks for response Jamie,

It really is trial and error and that is part of the frustration
and wretchedness as you come off and try something else.
Has anybody you know had success with L Triptophan or 5 HTP
which are supposed to be more natural anti depressants.

Thanks

Don

cazoo,

Welcome and thanks for your post.
This is my fourth horrible experience.  Maybe i should have stayed on
the paxil or something longterm, but I was feeling better for a year or
two and went off it.  Probably a bad choice.  How do you survive and
what has helped you the best.

Constipation - I'm on Wellbutrin too. Taking 2 stool softeners after dinner. They are OTC. Can tell they do pretty much help when I forget - am sorry next day. Will not cause you to have a blow out either.
Are you eating fruit? Like oatmeal? Lay off cheese.

Wishing you well. Give your combo time. Interesting that you did well for so long. I am also taking Cymbalta 120 mg. because it is so expensive, Thinking about ditching it. Will think again.

Well this is my second day on Wellbutrin 300mg.
Perhaps it is just wishful thinking but it seems my mood is
a little better.  Bowel problems persist but I never know if it is a symptom
of depression or of the meds.
I know the feeling of not being able to think straight, or keep focus
or just plain want to stay in bed.  Am hoping that with God's help this new
combination will make a significant difference.
Too early to tell for sure. I know there is a light at the end of the
tunnel someday.
