Hi Courtney,

welcome to the forum! I have been on Cymbalta for over a year and still have to drink 32oz of water or more with each dose to avoid nausea. Otherwise the side effects lasted about 4 weeks. I started at 60mg.

remember though everyone is different and it is important to communicate with your doctor about the side effects!

Hi Courtney,

Welcome to the depression forum. I am glad that you have decided to join us, but sorry that you are suffering with depression.

I have never taken cymbalta. But like Trina said, we are all different. Be patient. But do talk to your doctor if they become too much to tolerate. Or if you have questions... Take care and keep posting. Know that we all care and understand what you are going though.

Hugs, Karen

Tough road, yes. Beatable road, yes.

Good luck with the Cymbalta. If it's your first anti-depressant, then warning: don't expect it to be a magic pill that makes it better instantly. It's like a guess and check math problem. You try this one, then that one. You try this dose, then that dose. But, eventually, things will be leveled out and you can live almost as if nothing is wrong. Good luck.
