Hi, I am a new member, you may have seen my last post, 'why am i so mad?!!". I am just getting into the idea that I am depressed. I have been sad for about 2 years now, but I never really thought of myself as being depressed.
One day, I was talking to someone from school, and she asked me why my grades were not as high as they should be (or at leats as my norm). She then asked me if it was because of depression.
All of a sudden, I knew. It hit me then and there. I'm DEPRESSED. I have all the symptoms.
I read through everyone's posts, and I can relate to almost everyone of them. I had no idea.
I am scared to talk to anyone, really about depression, because I don't want to be judjed accordingly. I don't know what to do. Should I tell my doctor? Help me please.

Hi Sweety. I responded to your other post. I do really think you should talk to somebody about this (dr./parents/school counsellor). There is help out there and it doesn't always mean taking anti-depressants :-)
Take care, Softy

Yes Sweety... I definitely think that you should tell your doctor. In your last post you said that your parents would not hear of it. Being a parent I can see where they are coming from, we don't like to think that are children in pain. They may be in denial about that. But you do need to talk to someone. Are you in high school or college? I'm not sure but I think that you should be able to talk to the school nurse at the very least if in h.s. or if in college, there are health departments for students. Please keep posting here though, you need to get it out and we will listen... that's what we do. I know I feel better when I just post my feelings at the time to get it "out of me". Take Care

Thanks dbab.

I'm happy today. I've been feeling alot better once my parents stopped fighting. I am fiveteen btw.

For some reason, everything seems to go wrong all at the same time. My parents fighting all the time, my siblings fighting, I just felt alone.

Once it all stops for a while, and I actually feel like I am doing something for my life, then I am not so depressed.

I like this site, because it is like a journal that you get ffedback from. I lkie that.

Thanks, Sweety

Hey Sweety,
I responded to your first post too. It's hard to wrap your head around the idea that you are depressed. Your true friends will want to support you if you want to share. Please, please, please talk to your doctor. It took me a long time to get the courage to do that. I am always worried about being judged. Your doctor should not judge. I go to therapy and I take some meds. Your doctor will help you find a solution that can help.
No one here will judge, we are here to support one another. We "get it!"
Keep in touch, let us know how you are doing. You are not alone . . .

Peace,

Thanks for your posts. I appreciate you guys. I am glad I have this site to fall back on.

I haven't been feeling very well lately. I seem to be crying alot now. More so than before.

I have found, that when I am surrounded by friends, I am happier than when I am alone with others that I don't know.

Some days, I feel like the whole world hates me. Yesterday I yelled at my father. I fell terrible about that, but I don't know what to do, because I wouldn't know what to say. "I'm sorry dad, I am depressed." That's just a hard thing for me to say to anyone I really know.

I fell asleep crying late last night, and I had a class this morning at 6:00 then I went straight to my other class after that, and I don't know when I will have time to sleep.

I am sorry I am nagging about this, I just wanted somewhere to write it down just to get it out of my mind.

Thanks again.

You are not nagging. That's why we are all here, to offer support. I am going through a lousy time too so I feel you pain. Just because you feel good today doesn't mean to ignore your "symptoms". Talk to someone about your feelings.
We care about you!!!

Peace,
