Thanks for the kind words Tim Tam. I'd like to get a dog but my schedule prevents me from giving it the attention it needs.

I have mulled over your suggestion about some volunteer work. It sounds like a good idea to try. It can't hurt.

Some really good food for thought in the 2nd half of your reply above. i guess I never really looked at it that way.

Trina,

I bought 3 books a few months ago in hopes to getting back on the right track.

"Undoing Depression" - Richard O'Conner
"Change Your Brain, Change Your Life" - Daniel Amen
"The Depression Cure", the 6-step program to beat depression without drugs, Stephen Ilardi

The last one is the one that I read mostly because of the without drugs aspect of it. I'm not interested in taking any drugs for help. I went through alcohol and drugs early in my life and want no part of them unless it will save my life.

Anyway, the last book is almost finished. I've stopped at the point where it is suggested to see a medical doctor before implementing the program. I'm seeing one in a few weeks and will be my first time seeing one since I quit smoking. Hopefully a diet and exercise program will start to help matters. Working on the social aspect of things. Getting over that and not being afraid that people are not interested in me would be huge step forward for me to recover.

I'll try to be current with any progress or setbacks.

You guys and ladies are great!!
