I'm now 5 months postpartum not sure if I've ever experienced post partum depression or not because I have severe depression as it is.. but I feel like jello can't get out of bed soooo tired just overall don't feel good it's cold and snowy where I live which isn't a motivation for me at all .. I'm not motivated to do anything and I know it won't get any better what so ever until spring and warmer days come along.. I get seasonal depression as well every winter so it's like a triple whammy for me right now .. nothing is helping or making me want to do anything it's been pure hell. And of course my anxiety is sky high I'm assuming hormones.. my xanax rarely works anymore.. it's really torture anymore.. I have four kids and they are my only motivation at this point and only reason why I do get out of bed because I know i have to by it's torture getting to that point. What do you do when you don't know what to do to help yourself because everything you've tried and do now just doesn't work?! It's so awful ):

Hi Lacey,

It's cold and snowy where I am too, and that certainly makes it tougher to battle depression. I miss the sun, as I imagine you do.

There's no end of things I could suggest you try, but it sounds like you're not ready to hear stuff yet. I know your depressed, stressed, frustrated, and probably a little scared, so let me ask you this: what's your goal? Do you want to be happy? Less anxious? More energetic? What do you want to change about yourself?

There's no one who works harder than a new mom, and this is your 4th kick at the can. There's strength inside you that you haven't even tapped yet. Don't sell yourself short.

Do you take any vitamin D3? It helps a lot with seasonal depression. Have you mentioned this to your doctor? What did they say? Maybe you need a higher dose of medication???

Give these things some thought and what F27 said above. We will help you figure out what is going on, but if you haven't told the doc, I think it is time.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hugs, Karen...

Meditation yoga, think about positive thoughts, like a person you meet before and liked, or some idol of religion.

The mind can always be elevated, but there is never a guarantee against boredom.
