Hello all,
I hope everyone's week is off to a good start and gets even better!
This past weekend I got some Christmas decorations out. No big deal except I didn't even bother with decorations, tree, etc. last year, so this is a good thing for me... As I was choosing what to use and not use this year, I came up not a midnight clear, but my collection of Christmas cards.
I think so many Christmas cards are so beautiful that I don't discard them. I have one decoration that's purpose is to hold your Christmas cards you receive and since I don't receive that many I have the old ones in there. I love looking at them, either enjoying the artwork, the sensory stimulation of the picture (for example, I am now living in Florida, but used to live where we had snow in the winter), or I remember the person(s) who sent me the card.
Just wondering if I am the only Christmas card nut who does this!? tongue
Have a great day!

I save my cards too,and like to set them out. You can just tape them alongside a door,which is a really cool decoration when you get alot. Or place them on the Christmas tree.
Another idea,taking the cards that are old and don't have alot of writing in them and cutting out the images,and hanging them on your tree. My kids and I did that one year and the tree looked beautiful. Although I lost all of my Christmas items when I left my ex,I'm hoping to be able to have nice collection again sometime.
Don't worry about the world ending,it's already tomorrow in Australia!

I think thats a great idea ....An older friend of mine gave me this huge cardboard playhouse for my daughter and in the mail box were years of christmas cards from the original owner of the playhouse and i went thru looking at them and it is neat to see all the different cards like you said...but with computers we dont seem to get the cards to much anymore eh!!!

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

I keep ones from years past and look at them again to sort which ones to save.  Over the years friends or family members have died and I am glad I saved the Last Christmas card from them as a rememberance.
My Mother was a member of the American Legion. They as a goodwill project put together old cards from every occasion and made scrapbooks for the nursing homes.  Somehow just looking at pretty pictures of this or even the poems inside are a pleasure. Of course no names or written messages were in there.  That would have only confused them! nono
My daughter and I were putting up the tree this year, and she found the cards from last year.  She asked what to do with them.  I said to sort out the ones from people that have died this year. Fortunately we didn't have to save any.
