So tired today. Well, all week, really. I don't go to sleep early, and now my body wakes up at 5:30,whether I have to get up or not.

Garden going well, after all the wet and cold. Have had several harvests of broccoli rabe and radishes. Everything is in now--though I am watching the melons, because they may not make it. Pitmom--I lost butternuts and zucchinis. I replanted-and now they are quite happy. I am sorry to hear about the cucumbers--they do like it hot.

I really need to start dealing with the goods we brought back from Aunt's house in Massachusetts. We need to find appraisers for a bunch of stuff. So much stuff--most of it going back 150 years to my grandmother. I hope all are well and safe, whether in bed or the shade or the couch.

Raining today.

Yesterday we bought the tomato plants, replacement cucumbers and some lemon thyme and pineapple sage. I've no experience with herbs, but they smell soooo good, I couldn't resist. Planted them all in the raised beds and have my fingers crossed.

The peonies have started to bloom. Found a 'hidden' oriental lily blooming behind the peonies. Will have to move it after it's done blooming.

Had the plumbing inspector here to check the new furnace. "Fail. Hard kink in fuel line." Waah!

Still waiting for the electrical inspector to do his part.

Still waiting for the 'cable guy/girl' to bring and install new modem.

At least there have been breaks in the rain so I could get the dogs out.

Been out mushrooming this morning. Wet and cold out there. Didn't find many, but I am sure that there will be more. I have some in the refrigerator.

Sounds like you two (Myself and Pitmom) have both been busy. I need to get out in the garden but waiting for the weather to co-operate. My perennials are coming up and look pretty good this year. I will have tons of black eyed Susan's. They are spreading.

Pitmom, I am sorry about the fuel line. I take it that it is copper??? They can kink. Can you straighten the kink out? Or do you have to buy more line? Either way is a bummer. Sounds like you are waiting on a lot of people. I am not good at waiting on people myself. I always try to be on time or sometimes I am early. So I guess I expect others to do the same and not leave me hanging. I hope some of them show up today for you.

Myself, I am glad your garden is doing well. Wont be long and you will be harvesting again. Summer goes by fast. Love to watch things grow though... I hope you are less tired today. Being tired makes everything hard all around. I understand the feeling.

I hope you both have a good day. Sorry I have not been on much but I am gone a lot of the mushroom season...

Hugs, Karen...

Mushrooming sounds nice. You are way farther north, Ms.Karen. Your good weather will come.

Pitmom--don't water too much. Both thyme and sage are mediterranean. They do well with less water than you think.

Trina--hope the poison is better.

Still tired. Tried several times today to make a doctor's appointment--and still didn't manage. My insurer has made changes, and so I cannot make appointments online anymore, nor order refills, nor even send messages. Argh. The constipation has become dangerous, and really needs to be assessed.

I want to scream!

First, it is very difficult for me to call and order a pizza, much less schedule appointments for people to come into my house. Since I had to schedule the inspectors for the furnace, I also made an appointment the same day for my cable provider to come and exchange my modem.

Plumbing inspector came bright and early, failed my furnace for a kink in the fuel line. Okay, fine, whatever. I called the organization that arranged for the furnace and told them it failed.

Electrical inspector came right around lunch time, passed that portion of the inspection.

Waited and waited for the cable technician...no call, no show. To make things worse, I'm still getting the messages on my t.v. that they have to give me a new modem! The message takes up 2/3 of the screen!

I call them today...they tell me they'll come on Saturday. I said, "The hell you will!"

I can't deal right now. I explained this as politely as I could and hung up. I know I'll have to do something about this sooner or later...just not now. Not today. I need to get off the roller coaster.

I don't blame you Pitmom. Sometimes we need a break from having to deal with everything. I hope you can relax and enjoy the rest of the day.

I would call and call and call Myself. Tell them it is at emergency status. I hope you get relief soon.

Went out for awhile looking for mushrooms. Found two nice ones off the bat and then nothing after walking and walking. Hubby brought me home and then went back.

I hope everybody has a good day today.

I also hate making phone calls. Already made 3 today (one a repeat to a company that seems to want to ignore me) - it's exhausting and now I'm more than ready to hibernate again!

Shopping this past weekend I spotted a little wall plaque that says:

Gratitude turns what we have into Enough.

That plaque now hangs in my living room.

The depression that I suffer from is mostly tied to my circumstances. When I take the time to look at that word...circumstance...I realize that circum means circular and stance means position. Round and round we go. The word 'turns' rather than 'makes' really resonated with me. I think I've found another weapon in my depression fighting arsenal.

Ouch. That totally sucks, Trina.

S'up? Mental stuff? Physical stuff? If it's not physical stuff, you could always put a picture of someone who's pissed you off on your heavy bag and thump away.

Hope it passes quick.

Rain and pain today.

I allowed myself the dubious luxury of staying in my pajamas today.

Also have a dental infection starting.

Waah!

F27, severe case of poison ivy, 10 days of antI biotics 3xday. Just completed yesterday. Still have mild rash breating out, but it is dieing out. Been 2 weeks.

Pitmom, we had same such bad service that we cancelled. Well I cancelled. Had no TV for a month. Finally decided on DirecTV.

It is dish/satellite we have NO Issues in 10 years. We I call for a question on the bill (rare) they magI call have a special going and we save 20-25.00 a month for 6mos.

HT, SO sorry you still struggling so badly. There is and end to the this rough patch, hang in there. How are the gigs going?

Peace
Trina

Karen, Pitmom, Myself AND any other Gardners I have omitted by way of poor memory.

While surfing Pin interest; I learn so much I didnt know exsisted; I found the following under JUNK JOURNALS. Apparently a spin off of art journaling. My creative side tends to feel that it is a good alternative for rainy days when gardening is not possible.

More rain. Ugh.

We 'braved it' yesterday and went to a couple of garden centers.

Struck out at the first. Hit 'pay dirt' at the second. I've been looking for a 'blue' baptista to replace the rose bush that is getting way to big for its' spot. They were finished blooming and had gone to seed already, but the plants were healthy so my garden buddy and I each got one. It wasn't until we were finished shopping and checking out that we were happily informed they would be 40% off!

I have a yellow one and a 'chocolate' one already. They had never heard of 'chocolate' so I've promised to bring them seeds from my plant.

I restrained myself and only bought a couple of annuals. One that caught my eye is called "Velvet Elvis". It has a silvery leaf that is deep purple on the bottom side and velvety. It has a light 'blue' trumpet shaped flower and is good in part sun. I also picked up some foam flower, a 'black' sweet potato vine with purple flowers and a white nicotiana that gives its fragrance at night. Hopefully, these will make a nice container arrangement on the patio near the seating.

I'm struggling with these gray, rainy days. I want to be outside in sunshine! I bought some new shorts and tank tops that I can't wait to wear!

I know what you mean about grey rainy days. It has been that way here too. I was hoping for some sun today but it doesn't look that way. And to top it off, it is cold. Jacket weather.

I got to get started putting in my garden. I plan to do beans next week. Kind of late but they will still make. I am trying to avoid the cutworms. So I wait until after the first week in June.

I got some cucumber plants that I am going to put in. Four of them were real small. I don't know if they will make it. Somebody gave me some lupines that they started from seed. They are a cute little plant. Now I have to make room but I think that they like some shade, so I think I have the spot.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Pitmom, your annuals sound cool. The only annuals I got this year are my baskets. Petunias (pink) in one and a mix with verbena and bacoppa in the other one, oh and petunias in that one too.

Take care all!!!

Hugs, Karen...
