I was bored last night, and my sleep meds weren't working, so I started watching "Ozark" on Netflix. I'm finding it both exciting and therapeutic - it's like a male mid-life crisis writ large.

What are you guys watching?

Loved Apocalypse Now! 2001 was a difficult movie for me; I think I was too young when I first saw it because the ending confused the he77 out of me.

I loved Ozark. A slow burn but Jason Bateman and Laura Linney were so good! Story was believable.

I'm watching a newly released series called "The Confession Tapes." Not the happiest of subjects but well done enough to hold my interest.

Movies sound like a good idea. Might dig out my Netflix log-in details (hope they still work) and try to find a move to watch. Can't commit to one of these 10-series long shows at the moment - two hours is about my limit.

Perhaps if series 4 of The Vikings is on there, I might watch that as well. Watched the first three series with my mum, and it was pretty good. Not sure why we didn't watch the 4th series together, but my mum has watched that yonks ago.

Do not have Netflix F27. I know, I am always a late bloomer.

Been DVR'ing great old movies and favorite sicoms [few as they as are] on late at night.

This fall there are some good looking shows coming on air. Can not think of the titles at this moment, but will recording them to.

I rarely do this but, America's Got Talent is not enjoyable this year, Mel B's screaming got on my nerves so bad, even John wanted to change the channel. Shame there are a few good acts, just can stand to watch it.
and I have only been watching it the few years..

oh well. I have good books to turn to.

Peace

*sigh*

The latest season of Walking Dead. On HBO, True Detective and Silicon Valley. And for the lighter side of things, The Office and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Ozark is on the list--we only shuffle through a few at a time. Loved Orange is the New Black tho.

@HT - I remember when the Redux version came out, a friend and I went to see it at an IMAX theatre and were blown away.

@M09 - True Detective, the first series, was incredible. The grit and dirt and grunge that permeated the mood was so well done.

@Trina - Netflix replaced cable in our house. I couldn't believe the selection we got for just 10 bucks a month!

@NCOT - I call BS; you don't watch TV. ;-)

@Kelly - Ozark is a slow burn, but man-o-man is it engaging. Jason Bateman owns this role.

It truly is. I have said for years that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson needed to work together, cast as brothers. They are related here, but their work is terrific.

Geek Out alert--Harrelson is cast against type and creates a very nuanced performance of a serial cheater with anger-management issues. We generally want to like his characters very much, and in this series, we can really only applaud his character's dedication to his work. On the other hand-I underestimated McConaughey for some time as a pretty boy. I happily admit my mistake. Seriously controlled work--both mentally and physically. Both men are drawn bow-taut with tensions and need.
