Hi Amanda,  you have taken a big step in just posting here.  You have left out alot of information though.  Such as, what meds have you been on, have you been evaluated by a psychiatrist and seen a conselor?  There are many factors in why a person is non-responsive to medications.  Everyone responds differantly to differant medications.  You mentioned that you have many health problems so you are probley on multiple medications for this am I correct?  I would first make an appointment to be seen with a psychiatrist to see if there is something that would work better for you.
I also have this same problem with depression and multiple health related issues.  I take all kinds of medical medications and had also suffered for many years with depression.  It wasnt the last 6 months or so that I was finally pushed by my doctor and mom into seeing a psychiatrist while I was in the hospital for a pacemaker inplant (I am 32 yrs old).  He shifted some of my meds around and I feel so much better now.  I also try to stay busy by crocheting, reading and walking when I can.  Keeping the mind occupied is important.

Welcome to healing well......

Elisha,

Yeah I do see a conselor which has helped some. I am 19, I have depression, asthma, IBS, Interstial cystis, arthritis, two cracked virtabre in my back, and I am seeing a physical therepist for pelvic pain that is possibley caused from a Muscle that is in the pelvic region, and I also suffer from migraines. I am currently on 6 medications and really run down. I went from 117 lbs before I had surgery to 95 lbs currently. I try to keep my mind occupied with working full time and school full time.

Amanda,

Welcome!

Your 2nd post says you try to occupy your mind with full time work and full time school. That is very admirable! You have a lot of ambition! Along with that you have doctor's appointments and physical therapy. I wonder if it is all too much for you though? I think sometimes the mind needs to be unoccupied to be free to reflect and evaluate things in your life.

What kind of counselor do you see? A counselor through the school or someone outside the school? Could be the therapy you are in is not right for you. Think about trying psychotherapy and see how that works? It is more in-depth than some other types of therapies/counseling. It is very interesting.

I hope you find some permanent relief for your physical pain and your depression.

Hi Bluegray,  I agree with Nanse here.  You are probably trying to do too much here.  You have so many medical problems and on top of that trying to go to school full time and work a full time job.  There are not many well people that can even do that.  I have Multiple Sclerosis, was running (managing) two mental health facilities and working 60 hours or so a week, on call all the time and after 5 years of doing this and being diagnosed and depression I physically couldnt do it anymore.  I ended up making myself so much worse.  Physically and mentally.

Hi ty923,  I wanted to say welcome to Healing Well forum. You can add your e-mail address by going into control panel.... this way it will show up below your user name.  :-)

I think it is great that you have such a positive attitude towards your getting better.  This should make a huge difference.

Good luck with your counseling appointment today!
