I was given a precsription sleep aid saturday to help ease a late night. I woke up Sunday really dizzy, took my lexapro anyway and laid in bed......all day.....all night. So mondays here and I get ready for work knowing very well I was coming home. Two coworkers could tell I was different as I explained my shortness of breath and dizzy spells. I told my supervisor I was going home and she said ok.....but it wasn't a ok like she meant it. I feel guilty because there are things I can do today I can't mention on this site. I missed 4 days two weeks ago and told everyone that I have a heart condition causing fatigue and SOB. {Shortness of breath causing inadequate blood flow} Well, that wasn't the truth, I am going through issues...hope this Lexapro works... With the lie I told, I will look for another job where I am not on my feet. Only this forum and my spouse knows the lie I told....how awful!

Thank you for the reply....lying about having a heart condition to excuse my lack of responsibility is wrong. I am hoping this is a depression symptom? Or because the work involved has no promising career growth I hoped for. Is it fair to blame my down feelings.....on lack of effort. Anyone going through this?

I haven't heard or seen lying as a symptom or cause of depression.  It seems that you are not happy with the job you are currently at and just made up an excuse that would work for future absences.  By all means if you are not happy at your current place of employment than apply and actively look for another job.  But in the mean time you should try to put forth some effort on the one your with now until you do find something new.  You are only going to be short changing yourself by not doing your best and this is not going to help your depression or conscious.
