I was on Prozac for years and loved it then switched to generic and had to stop taking it.  Zoloft doesn't work, just leaves me flat and blahhhh.
I am supposed to start on Celexa tomorrow and was wondering what I could expect from it.

It's been a long time since I was on Celexa, and sometimes its hard to remember which medicine did what for me. But, as I remember, I didn't have any appreciable side effects, and it helped with both depression and my migraines. I think overall it wasn't too bad for me. Everyone's different though. I hope it works for you.

I am on it now and it has been working well for me. Hope you get the same results.

By our being understanding instead of abrupt, others, in turn, may decide to hold on a little longer rather than to give way. I was on celexa for about 4 months and it wasn't too bad.  It did knock me out flat though.

I was extremely tired and that's the reason I got off it. Other than that it did it's job.

But, everyone is different.

Good luck

I take Celexa now, combined with Remeron. I have not had any problems with it. I hope it helps you.

Hi there,

I'm on celexa now and started about 6 months ago.  The first two months were pretty tiring.  I was just tired all the time.  But other than that i've had no other side effects.

It's worked really good for my depression.  I can't say that it's help my migraines at all though.

I make sure I take it two hours before I go to bed.  Just to make sure i sleep off all the cobwebs and have a better start to my day.

I've been on Prozac and Zoloft and a couple other (i can't remember).  with celexa i've had the least side effects. But it has made me more sleepy that the others.

Do most people have symptoms from Celexia, such as nausea, feeling like a zombie, feeling blah? I had these symptoms and had to stop taking it. My doctor recommended Lexapro (sister med without the untolerable symptoms) and I had taken this for 8 months, it really did help my roller coaster ride (up and down with feelings). Anyone else take Lexapro? I no longer do, but thought it helped alot.

I took Celexa for over 10 years and it worked find. Until recently when the Dr switched me to Effexor XR which I hate.
Going to ask to go back for Celexa at a higher dose.

I, like everyone else did quite well on Celexa I am off it now.  I was tired off my feet, but then I was anyway with my depression.  I did gain a bit of weight and despite running four times a week have yet to lose it... but then again, I love food.

A note to Wendy cat about switching from Effexor... it is going to SUCK.  If you need some support to help you through it... I'm here for you.
