Does anybody know what sodium valproates really does for depression? I dont understand why i was prescribed with it. I asked the doctor once and he said it's for the 'hi' mood. but i don't think my 'hi' mood is excessive. in fact i rarely feel hi. im feeling low most of the time. why Valproates?

Hi mysts, It is great to see you post again.  Sodium Valproates is actually Depakote and is used most commonly to treat seizures and mania in like manic depression, and bipolar disorder.  I can also be an effective medication for BPD.  It can work wonders as a mood stabilizer, just be sure to communicate with your doc any problems you may notice.  Keep posting...we love hearing from you :-)
