Here it is another long week-end and Sat. is the only day I have something to do.  My sons go away for the week-end and so am all alone in the house and I just hate it - it is so lonely.  I have a hard time when I don't have anyone to talk to.  All of my friends are going away except the one I am seeing on Sat.  I have lots of books to read and DVDs but it is hard to concentrate when I am alone.  Also, I am trying to find a part time job but am not having any luck.  I have good computer and orgnization skills but nothing is happening.

I was wondering if anyone has tried calling a depression hotline to have someone to talk to.
I know I can always post a message here but sometimes I hardly get any responses.  Does anyone know of a hotline to call to have someone to talk to?  I am definitely not suicidal so I wouldn't want to give the wrong impression - just a voice to listen and empathise.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aurora,

Have you thought about going into the chat room on healing well?
Maybe we should organise a scheduled depression chat sometime too.

I wish you all the luck for fiding a job, keep searching - there will be a job out there thats right for you.
Keep in touch, we love to hear from you

The chat room sounds like a good idea.  Im not sure how to use it though.  The best time for me to talk is in the evening because that is when I am most lonely.  thanks for your help.

Hi again!

When you enter the forum, there is a blue row at the top that has options on it eg. Home, Calander, Chat, Search. Click on Chat and type in your user name and password and choose which room you want to go into. It usually tells you who is in there already too.
Give it a try and see what you think. Maybe see you in there!

Take care

Hi - I always get the weekend blues as well, especially the long weekend blues. I always dread long weekends. Especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, because I spend them alone. You are blessed to have children. Many of my co-workers have things to do with their friends and family and I feel lonely when I listen to it, so I just walk away. I don't have a spouse, boyfriend or children. Many of my friends have moved to different states and the little family I do have, lives in a different state. I am low income, so it is hard for me to afford to do anything or go anywhere..so I can definately relate. I usually can't wait to get back to work on Monday's. Like you, I have also thought about looking for a part time job on weekends just for something to do and people to talk to.

Hi!

I think the chat room is a good idea. I may try it myself. I lost my husband this last spring and I am trying to adjust to being alone. Weekends are the worst! I keep busy with hobbies like, painting, crocheting, and gardening. I'm a senior so I go to the different activities at the Senior Center and that gets me out among people. I have family, but they all live out of town. I hope the chat room works for you. I"m sure there are a lot of people that are looking for someone to chat with. LOL, Dee yeah
