Hello everyone, my name is angela I usually post on the anxiety board, but I have questions about depression too. How long does it take for you to notice changes after taking meds??? Also what are all of you symptoms?? I started having panic attacks and anxiety, now I just dont feel right, I feel really down and its like Im in a bad mood or something, its a weird feeling, I dont feel like myself, like its in my head or something, I feel like I need a mood booster or something, My personality is ususally in a really good mood, do alot of stuff around the house and now its like I just cant for some reason.  Do you think this is depression???

Hi, angela52884, I'm sorry that you're not feeling well. My depression started with anxiety/panic attacks. My first anxiety attack sent me straight to the ER. My depression symptoms: morning nausea; crying easily; not very interested in things; no energy or interest to get out of the house; moody; more nausea; sleepy or not able to sleep; forgetting to eat; and then the nonstop crying spells specially at night; sleeping more and more during the day. I knew that I needed help.
You said that "don't feel like myself" listen to your body.
Are you taking any med for anxiety? Are you seeing a dr? -

Hi angela, Welcome to the depression board.  Depression comes in many forms and presents itself in many different ways in each of us.  I have had depression & PTSD for many years and within the last 5 yrs anxiety/panic disorder.

The best suggestion would be to speak to your doctor and let them know how your feeling.  Perhaps a mild antidepressant would be in order to help...that is between you and your physician to decide.  It does usually take anywhere from 4-8 weeks for most antidepressants to reach their therapeutic levels in your body even though you may start to feel some effects from them immediately.

Please do let us know how you get on...Take care
