If it gets to bad, call you therapist, or doctor. They are there to help you. You can also go to the emergency room if you need to also. Please don't wait.
Come and talk if you need to.

Hi Monika... you are doing all the right things by using meds, doing therapy, and reaching out. Don't let the thoughts of suicide overtake you. There are several resources available, this is one; the main thing is to talk to people... anyone (of course, experienced and supportive persons are preferred).

DO NOT ISOLATE YOUSELF. DO NOT WITHOLD YOUR THOUGHTS THINKING THAT THEY ARE TOO CRAZY, TOO DESPERATE, TOO ANYTHING... LET IT OUT!

My story in short:
I came VERY close to suicide in Feb of this year. I isolated, thought I was going crazy, thought I was the weakest most pathetic person on earth. I talked to my psychiatrist and checked myself into a local mental health facility. It was a scary, terrifying, desperate moment but has since proven to be the most rewarding moment that turned my life around!

That was my path, my choice... yours may be different but you don't have to suffer ALONE... please continue to reach out...

Your sister in survival! K-Lani

Hi Monika,  I'm so sorry that you are going through so much.  I do understand. I have been there and am still stuggling with those thoughts myself.  You can get through this - one day at a time - one hour at a time - one minute at a time.  You must stay in close contact with your doctors, stay on your meds and please don't be afraid to tell people what you are feeling and thinking.  I confessed to my friends and people at my church the shameful thoughts I was having.  I thought "only a loser thinks these thoughts" but you know what?  So many people told me that they at some point in their life went through depression and had those thoughts. You are not alone.  You are simply human.  If you didn't care you wouldn't be suffering from the losses.  You are going to be okay.  Keep posting on here.  Let us know how you are doing.  Don't isolate yourself and remember WHAT YOU CAN FEEL, YOU CAN HEAL.  Your life is worth a lot.  If you are inclined, recite this..."God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference."
Hang in there and God bless you.

hi all...  I am still hanging in, but it has been a very hard week. Had a funeral a week ago, and that really put me over the edge.  My therapist is trying to a new medication for me.  I barely am functioning, but I am here.

Hi Monika, you are hanging in there even though it has been a very hard week. You are strong. You will get through this. It will take time but you will be okay. I pray that the new medication is helpful. I'm so glad that you are taking charge of this depression. Just do the best you can. God bless.

Hi Monika,  I am sorry for your loss.  I understand it is difficult when changing medications and when life piles so many things up at once...it is hard to deal.  I am glad that your working with your doctor and hanging in there.  You also have a good support system here :-) .  I am going to post a few hotlines for you just incase you feel you may need them....keep posting we are here for you.

Several years ago I had 2 losses to contend with..first my mum and 10 months later my partner from cancer...sheesh grief can knock you down...and yes I had feelings of wanting to end it all..but hey, I am still here to tell the tale (thank goodness)...all was not lost as I thought it was..life still went on..new doors opened in my life..some not so good for a while there..but some were fantastic and totally unmissable!!
You will get through this...have faith..try and think happy thoughts...do you have a secret peaceful place you can visit in your mind when things get bad, I go down by the river amongst the trees..

Take good care.
