You make such an excellent point. I have been in hospital for the last 11 weeks suffering clinical depression after a breakdown. In hospital, they encourage you every day to attent occupational therapy. I have painted, made clay models, done drawing, written poems, exercised etc etc. It really helps. The exercise really helps my anxiety and I have never done so much art in my life!! I am continuing with my art work after leaving hospital and as an out patient am attending occupational therapy for a month after my discharge date.
I think creativity is wonderful - I would have never have believed it would help so much
