Hi everyone I use to come on and post from time to time. But I haven't in a long time. But recently i've been having problems with my depression.Besides depression I suffer from anxiety/panic,GAD,PTSD and just recently i've been diagnosed with GERD/Acid Reflux due to the before mentioned illness. Anyway my depression has really been bad lately I don't know if it is because the holiday or because i'm having attacks again.I'm not sure which is causing which, anyway i'd like to make some new friends here and get some support to help me through this. I'm just simply sad and it's lasting for a long time this time.I haven't felt this bad in years. Thank you for listening. April mad

Oh April hun
the holidays can be very stressful to anyone, in general its just a hard time of year and I think in part because the days are shorter and with shorter days less sunlight. Sunlight is supposed to help us feel better. Call you doctor and ask about Zantac maybe for help with the gerd. The gerd you can over come with some diet chages and maybe meds, the depression can be a little harder to work through. Maybe someone here will come by to help you better.
I wish you well.

Hi April & welcome.  I'm so sorry that you are sad.  I'm right there with you.  Remember, it's one day at a time.  Don't try to be everything for everyone.  Just give yourself permission not to be perfect.  Do something nice for yourself each day.  Do you have a psychologist to talk to?  It might be helpful or a group.  We're here for you too.

Welcome April :-)

I'm sorry your having such a hard time at the moment sad

Are you on any meds , if not you might need to speak to your doc/pdoc about meds , if you are , you might need them changing - sometimes meds can poop out on you.

I hope things turn around soon for you.

Take care ,

Smiler tongue

April,
Often when I'm down I concentrate on doing something for another person. That helps me forget my sads. Look around and see if there is something, anything you can do for someone else. It might help.

Thank you all so much I appreciate the input. I haven't seen a therapist in awhile ,I am on meds though I take Lexapro,Lorazapam when I need it and Rinitadine for my acid reflux. I used to take Seroquel but I stop taking that over a year ago but I think I might need a change in meds and probably a really good therapist. I have been trying to keep my mind busy and trying to focus on others but it's really hard when you have such bad depression but i'm trying to take it one day at a time. Well thank you all so much April....

Merry Christmas!  However, I'm not one who celebrates it.  However, went across the street to have fun.  Of course, I drank a lot.  This always seems to lead me to more thoughts of self-destructive behaviors.  Pretty clear that drinking and me equals skull .  So, maybe I need to chill but it's hard to do that when I'm sad.  I see my psychologist before I go on a vacation.  I don't have a doc or arnp.  I gave up on trying meds for now.  Not sure what the next step is actually.  Just keep strong and taking it one minute at a time.

Dear April, my heart goes out to you and my prayers are lifted up for you. I know the pain of depression. Be sure to take a brisk walk everyday and have at least 1 friend you can call when you feel really bad. Watch comedies and have faith that you will come through this.

Hi April
Well. I think you are gonna be fine..because you have been through this before you already have skills useful in working towards feeling better... you probably just need a bit of counselling and different meds as you mention and you will be right in no time at all :))
You have reached out to us for help, and have recognised you are going thru a rough patch just now - and you are gonna take action and go see your doc about meds etc. fantastic start :))
Keep up the good work and don't forget to let us know how you doing.
