I have very bad news and I hope I don't rant. Life is getting harder on me. I try to find the 'silver lining' in every day, but the truth is, I am being torn apart by my daily problems. I don't let others see it, but my walls are falling away like a burning building! One thing that is getting unwanted attention is my focus in school. I am soo drained by depression, that I can barely stay awake. The reason I am writing this is because of the wonderful support in the forums.

Always Fighting,

Hi Chad
I am so sorry you are going through this! I wish that that Dr would have kept your appointment. Do you know when you are able to go back?
Has your eating habits changed? are you on any type of meds? How are you sleeping at night?
You are so young and it pains me to know that someone at 16 can feel so bad.
Does your family support you?

Dear Shy,
I am able to go back on the 6th. I am not eating very much. The most I sleep at night is 5-6 hours.I am not on any meds because I hide my depression from my parents. The only people I feel I can talk to are the experienced people of this forum. I'll be going to school again at 7:50.
Still Hiding,

Hi Chad,

I am so sorry you are feeling this way. Why do you hide this from your parents? Do you not think it would be easier for you if you could talk to them? I know it is difficult talking about how you are feeeling but it might help you to have their support.
I am glad you feel you have support on this forum and please keep in touch with us.

Take care

Dear Victoria,
My parents are depressed enough as it is. Some of my depression came out in a negative way today. I got angry and beat on a school CPU.

Chad,
It is time to talk to your parents and stop hiding.
That is what parents are for. They are there for you,and I am sure will do anything to help you.
Taking your anger out on someone else is a BIG sign that you need help NOW!
Do not let this overcome your life. You have so much ahead of you. And you are very strong and can get thru this.
You sig says "live like everyday as your last. I am sorry kiddo, but you are not doing that. You want to be happy, not sad,not angry. You want and need your loved ones to understand what you are going through,... right?
Well how can they understand if you don't tell them?
Let your parents do their job. That is to take care of YOU.
I am reaching out to you and asking you to get help. Please know that we all care so much about you. But,we are not with you and YOU are the one that has to make the first step. Please just talk to your parents, whichever one you feel more comfortable with and tell them what is going on with you. Ask them for help. I can tell that you have alot of love in your life Chad, and if you push it away how is that helping you?

Chad I agree with shy, you really must think about telling your parents.

Please really listen to shy here, she has given you some excellent advice.

Take care

I told my parents and they are getting me an appointment with a psych. I have also found a church and am praying for God to guide me through this difficult time in my life. I haven't gone to a church in 3 years and I'm really nervous! Any advice?

P.S. Thank you for your previous help. tongue

Chad,

Faith is very important and God doesn't care if you've been to church yesterday or 20 years ago. I believe we are all part of something bigger than ourselves.

I'm glad you told your parents and are getting an appointment soon. You can defintely feel better with professional help and we all want to see you get better.

Let us know how you're doing!

I am so glad you stepped up!!!
I am sure you already feel better having that load off of your shoulders. Like I said,I could tell that your parents love you very much, and now the road will be alot clearer.
As far as being nervous going to church... just follow your heart. Do and say what makes you feel comfortable.
You are on the right road!!
Please keep us posted on your recovery!!

(Trying to catch up here)

Okay here's the latest. I am no longer having any trouble with my parents and have therefor stopped going to a shrink. I am having a Native American carve me a personal Wolf Kachina. The Dog is my Spirit Guide. He says that listening to my Guide is very important. I would like to thank you all for being a great community for me to join and assist in.

keep fighting everyone, Chad

I am new to the list Chad and when I read your story I saw myself. I am 47 and have been depressed fpr over 30 years. Last month I had a complete melt down and just walked out of work. ( Thank goodness insurance is paying me part of my salary.) When I was around 14 my parents had me hospitalized. I was furious!! They gave me meds that made me feel like a zombie. After a few days I realized the only way to get released was to tell the doctor what he wanted to hear. That is what I did. Looking back on it now, it was the biggest mistake of my life. If I had dealt with the depression then, I maybe would have had a happier life. Instead I hid my depression and told myself I was not depressed, I had every thing under control. My depression has caused me two failed marriages and a lot of heartache. I am glad to hear that you have things under control. My advise is that if ever you are feeling depressed again, do not hide it. Deal with it now, keep on top of it, you control the depression so that it will not control you. I will be seeing a pyschiatrist for the first time, and I am bound and determined to get it under control.
