I may be doing on Trazadone to help me sleep. I have been on Ambien for 2 years and I've built a tolerance to it big time. I've also tried Lunesta,Ativan and a combo of the Ambien and Ativan, and nothing seems to help. I don't fall asleep till like 6am. I really need to get on a good sleeping schedule, and daily rutene(can't spell) to help with my depression/anxiety. I really hope this helps. I'm worried b/c I have such a high tollerance to EVERYTHING. Like, last week i had a kidney stone and they gave me demerol IV and It didn't phase me, plus I had had a stadol shot earlier that same day. Didn't sleep at all that night, even after taking an ambein that night. Most people would have been knocked out.
Just wondering what your experiences have been.

I've used Trazodone for 7 years for sleep and it works great for me. I take 100mg at bedtime with my Zoloft and sleep like a baby.

Trazadone helped my sleep a little bit.  Now I take 100 mg seroquel at night and I'm out like a light.  I'm kinda like you with the tolerance thing.  Before seroquel, I was taking 6mg lunesta plus 6 mg Xanax a day and still only getting 6 good hours.  Read up on seroquel though, there are many potential side effects.
No one knows

You're on a lot of medication, some of which can also cause insomnia (Imitrex INJ for example). You might want to check with your doctor to see what could help with the sleep issue.

Hope you feel better soon!

Trazodone has always worked well for me.  I've been taking it about three years.  I take 200mg about 20 minutes before I'm ready to go to sleep.  Usually I drop right off to sleep.  Either I sleep really well or in just spirts, just depends on how bad I feel.  Try a higher dosage and see if that doesn't help.  It's better than mixing chemicals or switching to a new medication.
