am I depressed?

good morning..I have a question hopefully some of you can answer..I have recently started dieting and i started feeling  depressed...i did the majority of my eating at work and that is the only place i feel this way..when i go home i feel better...also..the more i think about it at work the more i get that feeling..when i eat i am fine for a couple of hours..do you think my feelings come from the abrupt change to my diet and eating habits??.or is there more to my situation...pleasefell free to replt..... jsut looking for opinions..I m not going to take your replies as a diagnosis..i may just all of a sudden hate my job..jsut looking for insight..thanks everyone..

Dieting can wreck havoc with your blood sugar and insulin levels, causing moodiness and depressive symptoms. You might want to take a look at eating smaller meals and healthy snacks to prevent that.

you think eating regular meals just smaller portions..and a little exercise would be the better route?..that's what i was considering..thanks if anyone else has any input it would be greatly appreciated..

Yes, I think that would help. If you still feel lousy after that, then it's time to see a doctor.

Hi wondering, welcome to healing well forum, glad to have you.  The thing that caught me about your post was that you said "abrupt change in diet"...well, as Geebs said this can disrupt your body.  You should always speak to your doctor before starting any diet as you want to get their input first and make sure that you blood levels are normal...all that jazz, get a physical done.  Most people dont but it is recommended and low blood sugar can lead to all sorts of nasty feelings.

I would consider speaking to your doc...eating smaller portions and spacing them out 3-4 times a day.  You can eat actually 4 or 5 times a day if you eat smart.  You dont have to starve yourself.  Take care

I just want to thank you for the advice..I woked out last nigth and ate reg supper..had breafkfast this morning..and ate lunch..and i already am feeling improvement..not cured by any means..btu feel improvement..my energy level is up that i can tell..I am going to continue to eat reg meals and eat some fruit or something in between..and just exercise at nigth..thanks again for the advice..
