I finally have insurance that covers Psychologist and pyschiatrist and no one takes it. I found a thearpist (had one appointment, thought she was a psychologist) but I really don't want that. So what can a person do. just here in limbo and having more bad days then good. I guess mine are consider more or less Trauma issues I'm just so tired emotionally and physically,
I would like to see my daughter graduate but.........What's a person to do????????????

char,

sounds like you got the same insurance my wife had before she went on medicare. lol

what we did, with greater or lesser success, was to see if the dr my wife wanted to see would accept the same fee as offered by her less-than-comprehensive insurance. at least this lowered our cost. also find out if your insurance will pay anything to a non-participating dr, especially since there isn't a participating dr in your area. another thing to try is to see if the dr you want to see will become a provider under the insurance that you have.

hope these suggestions are helpful.

Hi Chartreux,
I am not sure how your insurance works, but is there a way that you can contact a Dr and see if they can become a participater?
Or contact the insurance company and ask them to find another Dr close to you?
Like I said I have no idea how it works, but I would think they would be able to do something.
That sucks that you finally get insurance and it is basically worthless.
Please post on here good days or bad. If you want to spill your heart out go ahead, that is what we are here for.
Good Luck and I hope you get some type of assistance.
