Does anyone else feel just absolutely awful after they exercise? I've heard dozens of people say that exercise is the best cure for depression, but it makes me feel worse. I don't think it's a matter of not meeting goals, etc, it's the actual act of exercise that makes me feel horrible, mentally and physically.

Hi Elise
I was doing the 8 minute abs every morning. I actually felt pretty good because I was keeping up with it.
Then I just stopped. Now I need to get back into it and need to start this morning.
I wonder if it is the actual exercises that you are doing?
Maybe you need to find another program?
Don't hurt yourself doing them that is for sure.

Hi Amarafay
I am wondering if you could mean that when you get a little breathless when you are makes you feel like you are gonna have a panic hyperventilating..I have felt like this before and felt ghastly! Steady breathing is the key if this is the case.

Hi Amarafay, I would agree with Shy on trying to change your exercise program...I have several physicial illnessess in addition to depression.  It took me a while to figure out that the DVD exercises just werent for me.  I just got outside with the dog and started to walk.  First it was to the end of the block, then increase up to 5 miles a morning.  Now I have switched to going to the gym in the mornings as it is cold here in the winter and cant walk outside.  I have found that I really enjoy my exercise routine and look forward to it each day.
I hope you are able to find something for you as it really can help.  Please keep us informed on how your doing. :-)
