Hello all. It's me Chad. I just wanted to post here because I haven't in a while. My school is closing down and I have not been able to sleep. You guys are the only ones who I can count on to make me feel better when I am feeling down. I believe that my depression is coming back. If you could post back I would really appreciate it. (Sorry about raving on, but I had to get as much as possible off my chest.)

Hi Chad
I was wondering how you were doing!
What is going on with your school? Why are they closing? Are your options for another school something that is scaring you?

I know that if my school were to close, (high school) I'd be rejoicing, unless I was really attached to that school, but I think that no matter what, I'd never be. I do understand what you mean though. Are your friends going to different schools?

Hi,

I am Kitt.  I am sorry your school is closing.  I am hoping the new school you are going to will have all your classmates moving with you.

It is hard not to feel down and depressed when something you are familiar with changes.  You will come through this fine and it may turn out to be a really great change.

The problem is, none of my fellow classmates are going to a new school. I am going to an online school called Primavera after this school closes down. I will still try to keep in contact with my friends through e-mails, but I fear this is the end for all of us.

It is an online homeschool curiculum (hope I spelled that right)   On another note, we went to Castles and Coasters in Pheonix yesterday and had a blast. Now that I'm back in school, the fun is over and my home life is as it should be: Depressing. I usually try to ignore it, but it is extremely difficult to try to fake being happy. Well I'd better get back to school before I get into trouble.

Maybe this is one of those "Dear Abby" situations: when life hands you lemons, make lemonade (or at least, margaritas). Trite, but a grain of truth there. Maybe instead of focusing on friends who you think will be lost forever, try to focus on the new friends you will make in the future. Many people come and go in the duration of our lives, and it is the rare person who makes the entire life journey by our sides. Try to celebrate what you DO have, and what you WILL have, and remember the joy of friendships that can go no further in your life. The pain of separation will fade, but the warmth of remembrance is timeless.

Hi Chad, I wonder why you "fake" being happy?  Have you spoken to your parents about not wanting to take home schooling?  It may be more convient but perhaps you can make a pro and cons list and take it to them.  Social interaction is so very important for kids...most especially when they are your age and suffering from depression.  The last thing you want to do is put them in an isolative environment.

Please do keep posting....We are always here

I totally agree with Elisha
Especially if you are suffering from depression..being alone all of the time like that is not healthy for a young guy like you.

Thank you all for the replies. To answer Els question, I need to act  happy in order to not hurt anyone else. My stepmom is soo non-understanding. She wants to get everybody else thinking that I don't do anything, even when I'm workingmy butt off.

Have you talked to your dad about this?
You should not be faking life basically..how are you going to get the help you truly need?
