Hello Everyone,

Some really good answers here.  My GF has suffered from depression that requires meds for about 20 years now.  She has tried (in order) Prozac, Celexa, Effexor and Wellbutrin.  For the first three, she functioned OK for a while, but the drug seemed to lose its intended effect after a period of time (sounds like a common occurrence).  She is taking Wellbutrin (75mg) now and it is almost having no effect after 2 months.  This roller-coaster ride is wearing on our relationship.  She started taking Wellbutrin because we have had zero sex life for the past 6 years, and she thought it might help.  We are both looking for answers, but there doesn't seem to many available.  Any insight or information would be helpful.  Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the board,I am very glad that you found us.
Is she just taking wellbutrin? She might need to get back into the doctor and tell them that she is not have the desired effect from the meds. They may need to give her something else.
Also,what about counseling?
Meds help with the symptoms of depression they are not a cure, and she needs to figure out what triggered the depression in the first place, and that is something counseling will be able to help with.

Please keep us posted and stay strong

I second ShynSassy, try to find out the cause of the depression. Combination of therapy and medication may be much more successful than medication alone.
I would like to note that all Prozac, Celexa, and Effexor can cause sexual side effects.
