Hi everybody.
After taking a good friends and member's advise, I signed up.
As many times in the past, I'm going through an emotional rollarcoster.
There is a lot I could write & tell to express what I mean with the above but, first of all I would like to understand the diffrence between Depression & Bipolar disorder.
I can use any information or input I can get.
Thank you.

TOgirl,

The only way to tell the difference is by going to a psychiatist.  I can tell you this much, if it was up to me my diagnosis would probably be diff. than what it really is.

There is some similarity yet their are various differences between the two illnesses.  Also, there is significant diff. in medication.

Please talk to professional, and try not to figure it out yourself.  Pdocs are very helpful sources, and they can give you more sources than the friends and member or people not trained in the field.

Best Wishes!  :-)

Hi TOgirl..welcome to HW tongue
I think it's great you are reaching out to others for answers..takes courage to do this...Well done!
Have you been to your own GP and told him how you are feeling these days? This could be your first step towards feeling better..from here it will be determined if a referral to see a psychiatrist is necessary..

Hi Togirl
First of all I want to welcome you to the board,I am very glad that you found us.

I want to mention something.
I was told that my son was bi-polar and he was put on meds. The meds seemed to make him worse and I was at my wits end.
I took him to another doctor and he said it was not bi-polar but ADHD.
Different meds and now a different guy.

Just be careful.
