I do not fight depression but I was in a relationship with someone very special that had depression and that I saw being torn apart. This special someone that I held dear to my heart. My Princess. In my fight to face her depression head on after being kicked a few too many times I felt compelled to write this poem TO HER DEPRESSION and give it to the person I loved and still love dearly. We are in 2 separate worlds now but she knows that I will always love her and will never forget what she has taught me. Please forgive some of the off colored words I have used but understand that I was fighting for her and my life and my pen was a tool that I used to help get the strength to try to beat this Monster called depression. I hope others can gain strength in this as I did. It's not perfect but it was written from my heart. It was me crying out for the strength to help her fight this Monster. God bless the Heroes that fight depression every day. Here is my gift to you. This was written TO HER DEPRESSION.

I am sorry but after much careful thought, and rereading the poem several times. I have decided to delete it. I understand that you went through alot of pain. But,I have to be careful on what is posted because we do have alot of teenagers that come here.
I hope you understand..and maybe you could email her the poem?

Thanks
Shy

Shy~ I am sure there are many people that would benefit from seeing this poem! There has got to be a way that we could view this.  I am a little discouraged that someone could not write something so true to their heart that  as you said some of the content was unacceptable.  Our depression is a horrible, horrible thing and to me this is putting our hands over our mouths and saying, "listen but dont speak".  I think this person is valuable to this forum and we are asking him not to be honest with us and how a nondepressed person deals with our depression in a "raw" manner. I cant defend my stance anymore because of being pushed behind my words of "passion". PLEASE THIS IS OUR PLACE TO HEAR WHAT WE NEED TO HEAR
Strengthn1~
I have lost everything I live for including my faith, could you please send the email to my personal email?  I am extremely depressed and would love to see something from someone that loved someone like you did.

Thank you.

I will be "eternally" grateful.
Teresa

Faithfully
Like I explained I had a very hard time with this, and did the other mods. I got advice and had to make a decision.

You know that we have younger kids that post on here. I understand it was from the heart believe me ,that is why I struggled with it. But I have to follow the rules..

I suggest that you two use the healingwell.com email and go from there.

Shy,

I respect the decision that you and the Moderators have come to. Please understand that I did in no way mean to disrespect anyone on this site. As Teresa mentioned this did come from my heart. I guess part of what I was trying to convey is that there are many of us out there that may not have depression but feel a lot of the the pain of those that do. Every time I saw my Baby hurt it took a piece of me. It killed me. I know that her pain was 10 times more than mine but to me it felt like I was dying inside trying to save her.

Again, I respect your decision and will continue to express myself in other positive ways on this site. This is a great forum and a great source for me to try to heal as well! Anyone that may have read my poem and took offense I sincerely do apologize. Keep up the great Work!!!

Like I said I knew it came from the heart...and I struggled with the decision.

Im glad this one has ended nicely. It is a shame that the poem had to be taken out because it was a good poem, but we have to consider everyone. (And pleasing everyone all the time is no mean feat!) Shy came to the same conclusion that I had, its just that she got there before me.

well said. Strengthin is one of many people who never get full recognition in the real world. I like the poem btw faithfully. Very nice

I'd like to read the poem if you don't mind emailing it to me (ayjay@healingwell.net).

Incidentally, there's a poem by Jane Kenyon called "Having It Out With Melancholy" that has always really "spoken" to me; I just somehow feel...validated, I guess...that someone could put how I feel into words so well. I wasn't sure if it would be okay to post the text, so I found it online at: http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/15920. Maybe it will speak to some of you as well.

:-)  Thanks DJ!  I found that and I thought of him, I hope he enjoys it as well.

AJ, I have the poem and I am sure that strengthin1 wont mind if I send it too you.
It is very raw and real.
