Hello all
Well it seems i have found the antidepressant that works for me finally.  yay for prozac! I got out of my episode of depression.  While on the drugs...it still is possible to fall into depression again right?  I'm so greatful i feel better, but I am so scared of falling back into the same rut.

Congratulations. Sharing in your happiness and hoping your depression stays away for a long time.

Yes it may come back, but please do not anticipate the future, live in the moment.

Stay with us and keep posting.  It is good to hear someone having success.

Kitt is right... live for today and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow!

The fact that you have found the rigfht med now is fantastic news and I hope everything continues as smoothly as it is running now, but yes you are right in saying that you may have another depressive episode. But lets jump that hurdle when we get to it!

Hi, I saw your post and my doc is thinking of putting me on prozac (fluoxetine generic) was wondering how long have you been on it? I know everyone is different but did you have a ok or good appetite on it? My doc had me on symbyax which is a combo of olanzapine/prozac but had a allergic reaction so had to come off.  could you let me know? we are thinking of just doing prozac 1st and see how it goes.  TxJonny (female)

Prozac is wonderful.  i had side effects for maybe the first week and then that was it.  mostly it was just nausea and a sick to the stomach feeling... so during that period you don't really feel like eating but after that it should be fine.  for me, my apetite is normal...im not gaining or losing any weight.  i used to be on effexor and compared to that prozac is amazing.  i had trouble with effexor with side effects.  Prozac doesn't seem to bother my body as much.  i would definately give it a try.  i wish you the best of luck with it and hopefully it will work as good as it did on me!
