Hi Guys & Gals,

I am posting this as an extension of a campaign that is already running in the prostate cancer forum http://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=35&m=902273) in order to help support HealingWell and its users. We currently have 49,561 registered at HealingWell and just 1 man running the website with a team of 55 volunteer moderators spanning 27 forums.

We are challenging everyone who can to donate a small sum to HealingWell. If 10% of the registered users donated $10 we could raise nearly $50,000. Thats a lot of money. We could use the money to help improve the services we currently have and even expand to help more people.

So the challenge is this... Can you help?

Darren

Hi all,
I'm from the prostate cancer forum. I saw Darrens post on our little campaign and thought to come in and let you know the value of HW to us with prostate cancer. There are not very many forums to speak with a fellow cancer patient and for me HW has opened my eyes on the power of knowledge. Through HW I found a pool of men, or their spouses, that have lived this experience and was able to get out of it what keeps me positive and believing I can win this battle. Without HW I would of course continue to seek out support groups but they would not be as effective as this 24 hour site is. I encourage you to help. Mr. Waite has done us a great service by building these forums but we, the HW users, are the ones who have grown to depend on our contacts here and can best support his efforts to keep us online and up to date with the necessary technology to make it efficient. Thank you all and God Bless.

Tony

Hi there WCC,

There are 2 main ways to help support the forum. 1 is by making a donation (www.healingwell.com/donate) The link to this can usually be found in the sig line of most moderators. The other way is by buying from the HW shop (www.cafepress.com/healingwell) where they sell T-Shirts, Mugs, Gifts etc...

I hope this helps

Darren

Hi Teresa,

Just to let you know that HW sees 100% of a dontation (With the exception of a small amount of tax... An unfortunate fact of life)

Darren,

I am going to toss out my little suggestion that I tossed out over on the Epilepsy forum (my home forum) and do not want anyone to feel pressured by it at all.  I have already flipped over to my list of bills to pay for October and listed HealingWell.  It probably won't be much on a monthly basis, but it's pretty easy to do.  Like Darren mentioned, there's usually a link by the moderator's name, click there and it will take you to a link where you can pay by PayPal (all of us ebayers know all about that one) or by credit card.

When I was first diagnosed with epilepsy last summer, I would have been completely lost without HealingWell.  Darren, thank again for your reminder and thanks to all our great moderators and a special thanks to Peter who must work behind the scenes anonymously.

Again, thanks!

Carla

Its great to see that people have taken this so well. It is something that can be easily over looked but makes so much difference to so many people. I remember first joining HW regarding a depression issue with another family member. The support I had was fantastic and I think a huge congrats should go to EVERYONE. Not just Peter for maintaining the site, not just the MODS who keep everything on track but all the members as well for the support and information they share with others.
