Hi everyone

This is just a reminder to stay safe on our site...

Do not ever give out your personal info to anyone, unless you are 100% positive that it is ok.
Secondly,do not ever send money to someone that is asking for it.

I just want everyone to be safe.

Have a great day!

:-)  Thanks Shy~
I think everyone feels so safe here that we dont think of anything unsafe.  Unfortunately, because of what happens on other forums we need to be careful here.  I agree with Shy that we have to be safe.

I am not sure if you guys know it or not but each member has a registration page where their email or contact info is located.  The info on a member is there if you wish to contact them.  Also members that have listed info on that page and do not want their email or other info should visit their registration page and make changes if necessary.

Always remember to honor other members requests.

Happy posting!
Teresa

Good Morning All

I support Shy in her posting of safety issues when on the boards. I have been approached by email from members on other boards with requests for help, in other words money. I also know others who have also been in this position.

These requests will often be accompanied by stories designed to evoke sympathy. I have made friends online but have been very careful to be avoid getting into financial discussions.  The most recent request I received was from a friend I had actually met who now was asking for $500.00 to pay her house payment, she has a drug problem.  I said no and of course I got the email back saying I was cruel and going to cause her to loose everything, her house, her car etc.

Thank you Shy for the gentle reminder to all of us.

Kudos to you.

Respectfully
Kitt

That is what I am trying to prevent. Hopefully no one else has to deal with that.

Shy, What a great reminder for all members here.  It is so easy to get wrapped up or involved in each others lives & situations but since we only communicate over the internet we really never do know what may be going on in someones life.

Please everyone do be very careful

I too support Shy in this thread. It is easy to let your guard down when you feel comfortable and thats when you need to be on the lookout the most. Please stay safe everyone and if you are being harrassed by another member for money etc... please report it.
